A story from when I thought, 'I don't have any products'
Today's thumbnail is

Even if you tell me to sell content,
I don't have any products to sell
A few years ago, I
had the exact same feeling
When I heard 'have your own product',
I had the impression that
I had to create something amazing
from scratch
However, over the last few years,
I have gradually acquired the sense of
having my own product
Looking back,
there were two major turning points, so
I will talk about them in order
My side business started with 'contract work'
For several months as a side business,
I was taking on jobs to develop
business efficiency systems using GAS
GAS is a free tool
that allows you to
automatically operate
Google Sheets with programs
As I did the work,
I gained the trust of my clients
and found it rewarding to
have ongoing projects
However, on the other hand,
I had hardly gained any sense of
'selling something of my own'
When people said 'have your own product',
I was convinced that
I had no choice but to create
something else from scratch
Turning point ①: I started an initiative to 'teach' GAS development
One day, wanting to have my own product,
the first thing I worked on was
teaching
system development using GAS
I organized the content I had explained to clients
many times during my regular contract work,
how to deal with common sticking points,
and things likewhat had accumulated
within me,as someone who teaches
Then, surprisingly,
there was a lot of content
that I could teach
What I do every day
is taken for granted by me,
so it is hard to feel that
'this has value'
However, for those who
are not doing it,
it was content with sufficient value
For the first time here,
I gradually acquired the
'sense of having my own product'
Turning point ②: I placed that product online and incorporated it into a system
The next step I took was to place this product online and
incorporate it into an automated sales system.
You can build sales pages and payment flows by
combining free all-in-one tools like Systeme.io
.
By putting it online,
it changed from being something that only reached one client at a time
to something that could reach people I had never met before.
"The product sells even when I'm not working."
This opened the door to a new way of working
that I couldn't have imagined
back when I only did contract work.
The seeds of your own products are hidden within what you are already doing.
Through these two triggers,
what I want to convey is
that products are not about creating something amazing from scratch,
but rather extracting them from what you are already doing
.
I will introduce three perspectives
that I use as hints for extraction.
Things you explain to others often, but are so natural to you that you don't even think about them.
Things you are frequently asked, "How do you do that?"
Experiences where you got stuck in the past and found your own way to solve them.
When you re-examine your work using these three points,
you will start to see the materials you actually possessed all along.
Conclusion
To the version of myself
who thought, "I don't have any products,"
this is what I would say now.
"You were just looking for them the wrong way.
If you extract them from what you have already been doing,
they will become products."
Moving from contract work
to having your own products,
and then incorporating them into an automated online sales system,
is a path you can advance along one piece at a time.
Let's move forward together
to find the seeds of your products
from the materials you already have!
Once you see the seeds of your products,
the next step is to put them
into an automated sales system.
I have prepared a map that summarizes the entire system on one page,
a list of necessary tools and monthly costs,
and a diagnostic tool to see which stage you are currently at.
You can receive it here.
