Regarding well-being
I have been deepening my learning,
and this will be the final lesson😊
Thank you so much
for learning along with me💖
Each and every one of us, moving toward happiness!
well-being✨
Now, let's get into our final lesson~♪
Last time, we did#18 "Let's take a happiness test!"
By knowing your own type of happiness,
you gained new discoveries and deepened your self-understanding✨
Today's Theme
⭐️Types of Strengths
Strengths are "virtues"!
In other words,
a person's character, way of thinking, and behavior from a moral perspective
is what they are!
The foundation of the well-being component "PERMA" is
strengths (virtues)!

I also explained this in the article about learning "PERMA"!
👉#6 "The 5 Conditions for Happiness: PERMA"
"Strengths" are "virtues"
(There are 24 in total, including kindness, social intelligence, humor, courage, and honesty.)
"Strengths" support engagement (flow activities), but not only that, they
support the five elements of "PERMA"!
By utilizing your greatest strengths, you will be able to
gain more positive emotions, meaning/purpose, and accomplishment, and build better relationships!
You hear about leveraging "strengths" quite often lately✨
There are also various "strengths" assessments!
The VIA-IS stands for "Values in Action Inventory of Strengths" and
Gallup is also famous!
Here, I will introduce the VIA-IS.
<History of VIA>
In the early 2000s, the VIA Institute supported pivotal work on the nature of positive character traits. A three-year study by 55 scientists led by Christopher Peterson and Martin Seligman culminated in the groundbreaking text, "Character Strengths and Virtues: A Handbook and Classification." This project also included the creation of two valid and free measurement tools: the VIA Inventory of Strengths (commonly known as the VIA Survey) for adults and the VIA Youth Survey. ⭐️Click here for the free VIA assessment (You can change the language from English to Japanese)

You can register an account and take the survey for free!

Adult Survey (for ages 18 and up)
Youth Survey (for ages 9 to 17)
There are two types!
You can save the results from the free download!
Dr. Ryan Niemiec of VIA summarizes the characteristics of
"strengths" simply and clearly using the
3 Es.
・Essential
When you are exercising that "strength," you feel like yourself and feel like your true self.
Because you are expressing your true self, you feel positive.
・Energized
When you are exercising that "strength," you feel energized.
Because you feel energized while doing it, your motivation increases.
・Easy
Exercising that "strength" is easy for you and can be done almost unconsciously.
Because it can be practiced easily and almost unconsciously, it is very efficient and highly productive.
Actions that satisfy all three of these Es are
your "strengths"!.

👇This also provides a simple summary of positive psychology!
Until now, institutional reform and human resource development in Japanese companies have often focused on "improving negative aspects." However, in the coming era, this alone will not be enough.
