Muscles are the very embodiment of "visualized effort"
Hello! I'm Torimune, and I've been doing home workouts for seven years.
"Your arms are huge!"
I still vividly remember the day I was told that for the first time in my life.
I'm an office worker who started strength training in my 30s.
Before that, I had never been complimented on my body in my entire life. In fact, I was so skinny that doctors told me I was "too thin."
But about a year after I started home workouts, that one comment from someone I met for the first time changed the way I saw the world.
"So, effort really can be seen by others."
In that moment, I realized the special value that only strength training possesses.
Effort is almost never noticed by others
No matter how hard you work at your job, it takes time for it to show as results. Even if you study for certifications for months, no one will acknowledge it until you pass.
Personally, I used to work late at the office and study on my days off, yet I was rarely told, "You're working hard."
If anything, I even felt an atmosphere that suggested it was "expected of me."
Internal growth is even more troublesome. Even if you polish your character or strive to become mentally stronger, it's something only you can know.
To be honest, I was tired of "invisible effort."
You put in the effort, but no one notices. You aren't recognized. It doesn't pay off.
As I spent my days like that, I gradually started to think, "What is the point of putting in the effort?"
Muscles are the very embodiment of "visualized effort"
There is something I realized after I started strength training.
Muscles cannot be faked.
Whether you take supplements, drink protein shakes, or buy heavy dumbbells, you won't build muscle unless you actually do the training.
Conversely,if your muscles are big, it is definitive proof that you put in the effort.
Anyone can see it. It's self-evident. Is there any other result that is this easy to understand?
Work results are complex. Luck, environment, and the help of others all play a role.
But muscles are different. Every bit of effort you put in is carved directly into your own body.
I believe this persuasiveness is something unique to strength training.
Recognition skyrockets motivation
It's a strange thing, but once someone notices, you feel a surge of desire to work even harder.
"I want to get even bigger."
That desire became the ultimate engine that drove me to my workout room.
The power of being recognized by others is truly incredible.
Until then, I thought I was working hard for my own sake, but once others started noticing, strength training became more and more fun.
"I want to surprise them even more next time we meet." "I wonder if that person will notice too."
The days I spent training while thinking like that were truly fulfilling.
Once this positive cycle starts, it doesn't stop. Effort is rewarded in a visible way, which in turn generates the next round of effort.
I believe strength training is the best way to create a virtuous cycle of effort for yourself.
I was able to keep it up precisely because it was home training
Some of you reading this might think, "But can't you only change that much if you go to a gym?"
My answer is NO.
In fact, I am convinced that I was able to keep it up this long precisely because it was home training.
I have small children. My wife is also busy. Under those circumstances, I couldn't just say "I'm off to the gym" and leave my family behind.
But with home training, it's all done in 30 minutes after the kids are asleep. I can protect my time with my family while still training my body.
And above all, the people closest to me get to see my efforts.
My wife knows my changes better than anyone. My children also sometimes come to play in my workout room and say, "Dad, you're amazing."
I can build a body that others notice without sacrificing time with my family.
I believe this is the value of home training.
Consistency is the ultimate form of 'visualization'.
Muscles are the most powerful tool to speak of your efforts
Work achievements are hard to see. Qualifications are unknown until you pass. Inner growth is even harder to convey.
But muscles are different.
Muscles are the most powerful tool that silently speaks of the efforts you have accumulated.
'This person is putting in the effort.'
By having a body that makes people think that, the way you see life truly changes. You gain confidence. You become positive.
If you feel like your 'efforts are not being rewarded' right now. If you are thinking, 'I want to be recognized'.
Please start strength training.
There is no need to go to the gym. Home training is enough. Even starting with 10 push-ups is fine.
What is important is to start. And to continue.
Your efforts will definitely be carved into your body. And someone will definitely notice.
Let's build up 'visible effort' together.
Thank you for reading until the end!
