Title: The Eraser Flies at Night

In the school at night,
there are creatures different from those in the day.

Among them, the most famous is
the "nocturnal eraser."

They say it flies around the empty classroom,
eating the emotions left on the blackboard.

Anger.
Regret.
Words that couldn't be said.

While scattering white dust,
it quietly erases them.

"Have you ever seen one?"

After school, while stuffing her cheeks with fried chicken,
she asked me.

The hem of her skirt swayed in the evening breeze.

"No."

When I answered that,
she smiled just a little.

"Then, come tonight."

The classroom at night was quieter than I had imagined.

Only the moonlight illuminated the desks.

On the blackboard were the traces of the day's lessons.

Mathematical formulas and someone's graffiti.

Just then.

There was a soft sound.

A white shadow crossed in front of the blackboard.

"…There it is."

The words escaped my lips before I could stop them.

The eraser was floating as lightly as a feather.

Even though it was a normal eraser,
only its eyes looked strangely human.

It stopped in front of the blackboard,
and slowly began to erase the letters.

But it wasn't the formulas.

It was carefully erasing only the words someone had written in small letters.
—"I don't know who I really am"

The moment those letters vanished,

the air in the classroom felt a little lighter.
"You know,"

she said softly.

"Maybe that thing is kind."

The eraser glanced at us.

Then, leaving behind white dust,

it flew off into the night corridor.
I looked at the blackboard.

The letters were gone.

But strangely,

I didn't feel like they had been erased.
Your true self,

isn't something you find easily.
So I think,

by erasing and rewriting little by little,
it starts to take shape.
Outside the window, the night wind blows.

Only the scent of the fried chicken

still lingered just a little.
