What is Nakapotsu?
It is an organization that supports both the "employment" and "daily life" of people with disabilities.
Employment Transition Support often comes up in the context of disability employment, but even those who are already working can consult with them if they are in a situation where things are not going well at work or they are anxious about continuing.
What can you consult about?
Troubles at work, relationships with supervisors and colleagues, not knowing where to start when thinking about changing jobs, life-related anxieties (money, housing, physical condition) affecting work, and applying for a Disability Certificate.
You can use it both before and after finding employment. A key feature is that you can talk about not just work, but also your daily life.
Can anyone use it?
The target audience is people who have a disability certificate or people with disabilities (even without a certificate, you can often consult if you have a doctor's medical certificate, etc.).
It is free to use. Multiple centers are established in every prefecture across the country, and they operate in coordination with local welfare administration.
Difference from Employment Transition Support
Employment Transition Support is a "training ground aimed at finding employment." Nakapotsu is a "consultation window for before and after employment." Their roles are different.
The strength of Nakapotsu is that they stay involved with you for a long time even after you find employment.
