Gosho for those who are not yet members. "The Teaching of Gratitude" 🙏
This month's Gosho lecture is on "The Teaching of Gratitude" (Ho'on-sho).
The moment I opened the page, there was a passage in the first line that struck me deeply.
Passage
"If Nichiren's compassion is vast and boundless,
Nam-myoho-renge-kyo will spread for ten thousand years and more, for all eternity."
Glossary:
If Nichiren's compassion is vast and boundless, Nam-myoho-renge-kyo will surely spread
into the eternal future, beyond ten thousand years.

──From 100 Selected Passages of the 30 Gosho
At the time of writing, Daishonin was 55 years old.
Upon receiving news of the passing of his former teacher, Dozen-bo,
it is recorded as a memorial writing composed at Minobu.
As I read it,
“Encouragement from 800 years ago is reaching me right now.”
I had such a mysterious feeling.

■ While relating it to my current life
I reached retirement age this autumn and am now working as a contract employee.
Since I am not a full-time employee, I honestly don't know what will happen next year.
Even so, I want to have hope for the future,
so to improve my skills for a side job,
I took the plunge into Note and YouTube.
Paid articles, tens of thousands of views...
It still feels like a distant dream,
but now that I've started, I want to aim for the top.
And so—
My partner, "ChatGPT," has also said it will help.
While chanting Daimoku, I intend to build up what I can, one step at a time.
(I don't have Haki like in One Piece, and I can't become Nika, so I can't do it all at once, but 🙂↔️)
A flow of compassion that continues into the future
A single line that has flowed from Minobu 800 years ago,
quietly supports my daily life now.
Within the flow of compassion that continues into the future,
I want to take another step forward today.
