[Gadgets] Realistic impressions of choosing the trending "Keychron B1 Pro" as my third keyboard
Hello! In the previous [Extra Edition], I let my imagination run wild about the "Keychron Orca echo," a romantic device that hasn't even been released yet.

This time, I'd like to return to the main series of "introducing gadgets around me" that I have on hand.
I've welcomed what is my third keyboard in total.
It's the "Keychron B1 Pro"!

This product has been quite a hot topic in the community, with people asking, "Doesn't it look exactly like the Logitech MX Keys Mini!?" or "Is it an Apple Magic Keyboard killer?" As for how it actually performs, I'll leave the detailed specs to other wonderful reviewers and share my own realistic usage experience this time as well!
The hurdle that the two classic giants are relatively expensive...
In the previous main article (Lofree Flow Lite), I talked about how I struggled with the shape of the keycaps despite it being a low-profile keyboard.
Even while falling into the bottomless swamp, I couldn't shake the thought, "Since I grew up using laptops, isn't a low-profile scissor-switch keyboard that I can type on without a palm rest the most comfortable for me?"
That's why the first candidates that come to mind are Apple's "Magic Keyboard" and the Logitech "MX Keys Mini," which is very popular among gadget lovers.
......However, both of these are quite pricey if you buy them at list price, right? Personally, I've never even touched a Magic Keyboard, and as for the MX Keys Mini, I've only tapped on it a little bit at a Yodobashi Camera store.

"It takes a bit of courage to spend nearly 20,000 yen all of a sudden on a low-profile keyboard I'm not that sure about......"
That was when I found this Keychron B1 Pro. It has a stylish look that reminds me of the MX Keys Mini, yet the price is surprisingly affordable. Thinking, "If I fail with this, the damage won't be too bad!" I decided to take the plunge and buy it as my third challenge.
Points that I realized were not just "not bad," but actually the best after using it
I'll start with the conclusion. This is, well, actually not bad at all. In fact, it's quite good!
Other reviewers are also praising it as the "best value office keyboard," but these were the points that really impressed me:
This thinness means you don't need a palm rest at all
The "height issue" that I struggled with so much with my first CIDOO keyboard has been completely solved by this thinness. My wrists are truly comfortable. This is the flatness that someone who grew up with laptops was looking for.

Lightweight yet premium in appearance
The unit is incredibly light and suitable for carrying around, but it doesn't look cheap at all when placed on a desk. This single device is enough to complete a minimalist and stylish desk setup.
Quiet and smooth typing feel
Unlike the cheap, clattery feel of budget keyboards, this has a satisfying press (the stability unique to scissor switches). It's also reasonably quiet, so I don't disturb my family when working in the living room at night.
The reason why it's surprisingly easy to type on
It's an incredibly thin keyboard, but the most surprising thing after using it for a few days was, 'Why do the individual keys feel so large and easy to type on?'
Typing errors have decreased dramatically. It's as if the constant typos I had with the Lofree were a lie. I took a closer look at the keycaps out of curiosity and it all made sense.
The surface of the keys is slightly concave toward the center (a dish shape).

Thanks to this slight indentation, my fingertips fit perfectly, allowing me to naturally hit the center of the keys. The layout is also a classic, with no strange offsets whatsoever. I genuinely thought, 'Is this the final destination for usability as a tool!?'
Even so, I still chase the shadow of that other one
The comfort of not needing a palm rest, the overwhelming ease of typing, and the stylish design. In terms of practicality, it's a perfect 100 out of 100. Even now, if someone asked me for an affordable and easy-to-use thin keyboard, I would recommend this one first.
……However. Humans are truly selfish creatures.
When I spend every day working smartly with this comfortable, thin keyboard, 'clacking and tapping' away, there are moments when I suddenly start to miss that other feeling.
“...Ah, I want to experience that deep, mechanical typing feel again...”
I had complained that it was 'too loud' and 'too tall and tiring,' and let go of that mechanical keyboard. Yet, now that I'm away from it, I can't forget that unique sensation of pressing the keys down deep—that feeling of 'Ah, I'm really typing on a keyboard now!'—that sense of romance.
In exchange for comfort, I lost the romance.
So, even though I should have zero complaints about the Keychron B1 Pro, I found myself searching for yet another mechanical keyboard in bed night after night.
My journey (or aimless wandering) in search of the perfect keyboard is far from over.
Have you ever had the experience of 'knowing it's easy to use, but cheating on it with another one because it lacks that sense of romance'? (Haha)
I will continue to share my real-life gadget wandering stories, so I would be happy if you could support me with a like or a follow! See you next time!
