The story of how I clashed with the person in charge 10 days before my wedding, after being told 'we can do anything' and then finding out they couldn't do anything at all
A wedding is a single day that blows away a year's salary.
However, even after attending many, I think that sense of euphoria is an irreplaceable experience.
Well, I'll write about it if there's anything to write, but,
I was busy with work, wanting to become the youngest and fastest female manager.
I went through a broken engagement from an office romance at 30.
Before I knew it, wedding dresses were things to look at, not to wear,
and my closet was filled with Uniqlo suits and dresses for weddings.
I was invited to many weddings of friends and juniors,
and before I knew it, the wedding gifts I had paid exceeded 600,000 yen.
Weddings became things to attend, not to hold,
and I turned 34.
Triggered by a job transfer, I contacted my childhood friend and first love for the first time in 5 years?
It was because a LINE gift told me his birthday.
This man would become my husband a year later.
I'll save the story of how we met for another time,
but I am quite the perfectionist type.
Whether I use them frequently or not, I have a full set of things like curry spices and self-nail kits.
If I like cooking, I take the Food Life Advisor exam.
In contrast, when my husband decides to play golf, he sets up a net in the garden and trains intensely every day.
He hit a score of 90 in three months.
In other words, both of us are particular and perfectionists.
Here is our marriage registration.
My husband made the draft, and we had it polished on Coconala so it would be legally accepted.

I will use it with respect as someone from Okayama.
It's got a lot of quirks
It just so happens that we both like dinosaurs,
he likes T-rex, I like Mosasaurus,
and then Brachiosaurus and Velociraptor...
...What is 'Jurassic Marriage' in the background?
To see if we had really been able to submit the marriage registration the next day,
I went to the municipal office to get a certificate of acceptance of the marriage registration.
At that time, the lady in charge asked me, 'Is that an original?'.
'Yes,' I answered, feeling a little shy.
'My husband made it.'
It was the anniversary of the first time I called him 'husband'.
Well, that's fine, I just wanted to convey that this is what happens when we get together.
We are perfectionists to the extent that we turn the roses we received at the proposal into pressed flowers to make an eternal bouquet,
and we have a great passion for memories.

34 years old, first marriage, I had no intention of holding a wedding.
Partly because it's a bit embarrassing,
and my parents' home is in Tsuyama City, an hour and a half drive from Okayama City,
so for me, who is transferred nationwide, my close friends and colleagues don't live in Okayama.
I couldn't think of a place to hold the ceremony, and I couldn't imagine myself in a wedding dress even more.
My husband said that a wedding must be held.
He said that for the sake of responsibility to parents, determination for a new family, and gratitude to those who have helped us, a wedding should be held.
I accepted my husband's determination.
Once that was decided, we had to choose a place and a venue.
A junior who was just looking for a venue sent me photos of a bridal fair, saying, 'The food here was delicious!'
It looked delicious, so I booked a bridal fair.
-At the fair.
' We can do anything! Let's make all of your ideals a reality!'
Our perfectionist switch and work switch, living in the business world, were completely turned on.
I told them I liked dinosaurs and wanted a venue full of dinosaurs.
In business, the 'he said, she said' problem occurs as naturally as having a toilet in a house.
We are a business couple; we took photos of the venue, processed them with AI, and confirmed with the person in charge.
' Can you do this?'

It's a once-in-a-lifetime day that blows away a year's salary.
If so, I want to make it the best ceremony that only we can do, where the important people who attended will be genuinely surprised and enjoy themselves.
' We can do it
'
I see, so they can do it, I thought.
I told them I didn't expect them to actually make a T-rex pop out.
At this point, the only thing they said they 'couldn't' do was use the Jurassic Park logo. (Copyright issue)
And then, they presented an estimate. The total was under 2 million yen.
(It's not blowing away a year's salary!!!)
We looked at each other's faces and nodded.
Come to think of it, our parents haven't met yet, but
we are childhood friends and our parents' homes are a 3-minute walk apart,
and our parents were together in the PTA, so it should be fine.
Contracted on the spot. Because they said they could do it.
As a country bumpkin from Okayama Prefecture,I braced myself for the travel expenses and decided to give a trip to our relatives as a gift.
The location is the capital, Tokyo.
From then on, our energy
was just like a new business department launching a new big project.
We squeezed in time between work to refine the plot,
thought about the production, planned the arrangements for bringing things in,
and held strategy meetings night after night.
We set up a spreadsheet,
divided tasks and responsibilities, and checked to ensure there were no omissions.
At this point, our brains were in Jurassic Marriage mode,
but we had decided to make it a one-of-a-kind party full of entertainment where we could express a lot of gratitude.
As the concrete meetings for the actual day progressed, the plating of that 'we can do anything!' began to peel off with a sound.
'Oh, that's a bit difficult due to the terms and conditions...'
'There is no precedent, so we cannot do it considering safety.'
A parade of the usual 'we can't do it' that was unleashed at every meeting.
A parade of the usual 'we can't do it'.Hey, where did that spirited sales talk from back then go?
For the ideas we proposed,
they didn't offer alternatives,
just days of having the shutters closed on us with 'it's impossible'.
One of many was the opening movie.
Due to copyright issues, anything that reminds people of the original source is NG.
This 'original source' part is difficult,
and as someone whose dream is to appear on Jounetsu Tairiku, I wanted to film a Jounetsu Tairiku-style movie.
It's all over YouTube, too.
It was no good. The original source was too obvious.
Anyway, there was no time, and it would cost money if I asked them,
so I managed to make use of a free format
and finished a movie that looked like a Warner movie starting.
Since Warner had talks about a merger agreement with Netflix at the time, I checked the copyright issue with the Netflix side.
The answer was that there was no problem with using it at a wedding.
But the wedding venue said no.
They said it was no good because it looked like Warner. From the perspective of a wedding venue, since they are receiving money from us, if it is played in a movie, it counts as 'trademark use'.
They asked if I could remake it.
The time I spent on the movie exceeded a month,
and even though I was told data wasn't good and prepared to burn it to a DVD,
and even though I requested it on Coconala, it was no good.
There was no alternative plan, so I talked to them, saying I would take responsibility (with rules such as not posting photos of the opening movie on SNS) and let me do it.
In the end, it was settled by writing a note,
but I can't help but feel that if it could be settled by writing a note, I would have done Jounetsu Tairiku.
I felt the logic was broken.
Next is the table decoration.
A couple who loves dinosaurs, we want to put various things besides flowers on the table! We want to decorate!
But bringing things into the reception hall is completely NG.
No, I definitely didn't hear that.
The reception hall, which is a space where food comes out,
is NG for bringing things in considering safety.
However, they said it was OK if it was a table card.
Too difficult.
When my husband asked, 'If the table card is made of a houseplant, is it okay even if leaves fall into the food?', they said 'Yes'.
I don't understand the logic at all,
but there's no point in arguing, so I decided to make table cards.
I pasted decorative greenery on an iron shelf,
scattered dinosaurs, and pasted letters.

There was a struggle even to get here.
This stump is 2,200 yen per table.
I sent a Temu link and asked them to buy it from there, but it was no good.
And then, I got messages saying the table card must be a size that can be placed on this stump,
and that they wanted to check if this decorative greenery was okay to bring in.
No, wait, I've already made this many?

It was fine for the time being, but once I mentioned I would make things myself, I should have communicated my concerns.
And about my obsession, the bouquet coasters.
I had a vision of knitting these 60 bouquet coasters and having us re-enter the room while playing 'Ai wo Komete Hanataba wo' (With Love, a Bouquet).
So, from the day we signed the contract, I started knitting them bit by bit.
Knitting them one by one while imagining the colors of each guest...

But, as expected, I was told.
They said it would be fine if I gave them as a final small gift, but
since it would be an outside item brought in at the time of re-entry, it was a no-go...
Wait, hold on, I'm not putting bugs in them...
There have been weddings where people brought in artificial flowers, so is it really that strict?
This matter could also be resolved by us taking responsibility if anything happened, but
in just four meetings, there were too many instances of them saying 'we can't do that.'
Or rather, I suppose it meant '(if you spend money) we can do it' meant.
Extra charge for scattering balloons,
extra charge for changing the tablecloth color,
extra charge for adding flowers.
With dinosaur balloons and stuffed animals also not allowed to be brought in,
to create my ideal space, I had to maximize performance within the rules and
pay up.
In the first place, if this were work, you couldn't get away with making big promises to a client that you 'can do anything' and then
saying 'actually, it's impossible' once you've received the order.
Such dishonest work practices would lose you all trust in a business setting instantly. The big day was approaching moment by moment.
Our frustration
had completely reached its limit.
And then, that day, with only 10 days left until the big day.
Finally,my professionalism as a salesperson and my passion for a perfectionist wedding would explode toward the venue manager—.
The triggers were an email from the MC and
the planner unilaterally refusing a surprise for my junior colleague.
Even with 10 days to go, the MC's script hadn't arrived.
The time schedule was done, but
what kind of announcements would be made and when
is extremely important.
I urged them for the status of the script via email.
The points are as follows.
For the reception entrance, the groom enters in a dinosaur costume.
We are both from Tsuyama City, Okayama Prefecture,
and we will cut the cake to the 'hey!' in 'Ultra Soul' by Tsuyama's star, B'z.
Regarding the re-entry, it was agreed that we would hand out the bouquet coasters divided by table in baskets.
But, an email arrived with the following content.
・Cake cutting at the chorus of Ultra Soul
・Bride enters in a costume and hands out bouquets at the reception re-entry
Something is wrong here.
I mean, the really important parts are wrong.
Well, whatever, at this point, furthermore,
regarding the wedding cake for which I asked them to propose what they could do,
they just kept asking 'do you have an image?' without any proposals,
even though it was 10 days away.
My patience had reached its limit.
I'm very sorry, but my business switch had been flipped.
'I'm sorry, but this is different from the content of the meeting we spent an hour on.
Please correct the following.
・Groom appears in a dinosaur costume at the start of the reception
・Cake cutting at the 'hey!' in Ultra Soul
・Hand out bouquet coasters while playing 'Ai wo Komete Hanataba wo' at re-entry'
(I started laughing while writing this, what kind of wedding is this)
At this 10-day mark, the MC is getting the things I was most particular about wrong.
The MC I'm paying 100,000 yen to.
I snapped at the reply to the correction request email.
'Sorry, that's right! Looking forward to the day!'
Wait, who puts an exclamation mark after being pointed out for a mistake?
If it were a junior colleague, I'd call them into a separate room and lecture them.
Oops, my Okayama dialect came out.
Aren't they taking our wedding, no,
our first joint project announcement as a couple, too lightly?
I was complaining about this on the phone to my former boss from my Nagoya days.
The planner girl is probably about 10 years younger than me, so
I thought it might be pitiful to say too much,
but I had them listen to my frustrations.
And then, I asked about one thing that was bothering me.
' Aren't there preparations for surprises or something? lol '
In the past, I have attended many weddings of junior colleagues and made surprise videos.
With many weddings having no entertainment after the COVID-19 pandemic,
I really wanted to convey to the parents, partner, and other guests how hard the junior colleague who is the star of the show works at the company and how loved they are.
I contacted the venue and prepared without them noticing.
Could it be that there is one for me too,
while having faint expectations,
and with a tight schedule and a planner who is a bit bad at their job.
I thought they might say there's no time for a surprise if I wasn't careful, so I asked just in case.
My former boss laughed at first, saying they couldn't say, but
they seemed to understand that I was really communicating with the venue and
had various concerns, and said,
' They were depressed because they were told there was no time to play it.'
'They really did that.'
I love my junior colleagues, and they're saying they can't play something those colleagues took time to prepare?
Did they consult my husband?
Whose wedding is it? Whose decision is it? Whose money is it?
What about the junior colleagues' feelings? What about their time?
I really felt sorry, and I knew it was a forbidden technique that I absolutely shouldn't use, but I had no choice.
' Could you please bring out the person in charge? '
From the planner in charge,
' I have always intended to help the two of you.
What did I do wrong?' came the email.
In the signature of that email,
' We create your wedding, we create your 'thank yous' ' was written.
That must be the company's philosophy,
their corporate message.
However, looking back at the meetings so far,
they only made judgments on 'what can and cannot be done,' but
they never created or proposed anything.
Even the cake idea, in the end, they said it was okay to bring in a topper (like a doll to stick on the cake),
which was another logical breakdown, and we thought of the layout ourselves.
It was Produced by Ayaka, and the planner wasn't really doing much planning.
To hold up such a wonderful philosophy and then
call it 'helping'? Don't mess with me.
I've been working for 12 years with my company's corporate philosophy engraved on my back. (Metaphorically)
Working as a manufacturer salesperson,
the most hated phrase was 'bring out the person in charge.'
I ended up saying the same thing.
I was at my limit. And so was my husband.
The planner in charge tried to handle it individually, but
trust was completely lost with the first response email.
When you receive anger, what is needed is not to first investigate the cause of 'why they are angry,' but to accept the fact that 'you made them angry with your actions.'
What we seek is 'proposals,' not 'judgments on feasibility.'
It is professional awareness and a sense of responsibility for one's work.
The next day, an online meeting with the manager included was arranged.
At 8:00 PM after work, the gong for the decisive battle sounded.
I had sent our doubts and questions via email in advance.
・Dissatisfaction with the MC
・Is it true that the surprise movie was refused, and what was the reason?
・Other gaps from the initial 'we can do it' promise,
and dissatisfaction with the lack of alternative proposals
The lack of explanation from the bridal fair salesperson,
concrete deficiencies in the planner's proposals,
and clarifying one by one exactly what was not good, we received an apology.
The big issue here is the venue that made grand promises of 'we can do it',
the fact that we had 'expectations' for that,
and the sense of satisfaction regarding the production in relation to the cost.
Well, by this point, the cost had already exceeded 6 million yen.
The value of a moving experience only exists when it meets satisfaction beyond expectations.Anything below expectations results in the opposite. This is a good example of that. Handling such an expensive product, why did it come to this...
As we talked, I remembered the days when I was scolded, scrubbed toilets, and cleaned baths, and I started to feel sad.
And there was one more thing I thought about.
Is this what renovation work is like for me?
Every day, we receive many orders for baths worth 1.5 million yen.
We go to sites for meetings, take measurements,
and sometimes serve customers in the showroom.
For the customer, it is a once-in-a-lifetime renovation.
Large sums of money move, and some people take out loans.
We salespeople are required to sell high-profit products with more added value, based on the company's future operations.
That doesn't mean we should neglect the popular price range, but,
in my days of being nearly overwhelmed, I suddenly wondered if I had been facing popular price range renovations with all my might.
I hated the planner's work-like attitude.
「I understand that you cannot focus only on us while you are serving as a planner for 10 couples at the same time.
However, even if it is just one of many jobs for you,
for me, it is a once-in-a-lifetime grand stage.
」As I said that,
it was a complete boomerang.I have never been told that by renovation customers, and they always smiled and said thank you, but,
did I really exceed satisfaction beyond expectations?
Did I turn your life into just one of many projects?
I try to remember the sites I estimated, but,
did my heart really reach them? While such thoughts crossed my mind, my husband, who was on the other side of the screen and not yet living with me, said this.
「I am not blaming you as a planner.
I understand that the venue has its own circumstances and policies.
But we had expectations, both my wife and I.
Expectations for professional work.
We were looking forward to what kind of wedding we could create together.
The amount is too large for us to understand that those expectations were too high.
Have you ever made such a large purchase, a purchase that blows away a year's income in one day?
I want you to understand that.
If you can't do it, clarify the reason and provide an alternative.
That alternative can only be provided by a planner who knows our personalities.
Please, until the end.」
Even though he is my husband, he's scary.
I wouldn't want to be summoned by someone like this~~~~
From the venue side, the manager finally said,
'We will create your wedding with all our heart and soul.'
And the young planner didn't run away and attended the meeting.
And she said, I have one proposal.
(Could it be, an upgrade? A discount...?)
「We will provide the Hepalyse you gave up on at cost!」
I had sent an Amazon link saying I wanted to put Hepalyse in the welcome space, but,
they said it had to be arranged through the venue's designated purchasing route,
and although the link was for Hepalyse at 200 yen per bottle,
the quote from the venue was 900 yen per bottle, so I thought it was ridiculous and stopped. That was the background.
The Hepalyse at-cost proposal actually made me laugh.
It's 400 yen even at cost, and besides, you're going to charge us money!!
「We don't want a discount or additional services, we would just be happy if you could face us until the end.」 I told them.
The online meeting ended, and immediately after,
the manager sent the minutes of the Todo list and the MC script.
From the next day, the young planner was like a different person, her email replies were fast,
and she completed the remaining homework items.
It must have been painful, thank you.
After the Hepalyse at-cost incident, we created the wedding together with the planner and the manager.
And then, we reached the day of the ceremony.
Meeting the person in question after dealing with trouble is an act that raises your heart rate quite a bit, but the planner welcomed us with a smile,
saying, 'Congratulations.'
Now, let me introduce how the wedding of two perfectionists turned out.
The pre-shoot was Showa idol style, the marriage certificate was created with caricatures of all the guests,
the escort cards were airline ticket style,
and the welcome space was already quite intense, with a quiz to guess our honeymoon destination.

And then, the ceremony.
Since it was a civil ceremony, we took the opportunity to have two people each, the bride and groom,
ask the vows, the bride's side to the groom, and the groom's side to the bride.
「He is warm-hearted, but he doesn't understand a maiden's heart, will you still walk with him?」
「My sister loves cooking, and once she gets hooked, there is a period where she keeps making the same thing every day, but will you eat it saying it's delicious?」
We each laughed and said, I do.
And then, the ring exchange.
I really wanted to bring the stuffed animals that have been watching over us since the proposal to the venue,
so I had them flown in.

This is where guests pass the tape connected to the balloon forward. By the way, the balloons cost 160,000 yen.
My best friend from university was crying her eyes out before I even entered,
and I was drawn into crying too.
It's the most beautiful makeup of my life, so please stop it~
And then, the reception.

I practiced walking in this costume at home, but
the tail kept hitting everything, making walking extremely difficult.
I thought, it must be tough to have dinosaurs in the modern age.
Cake cutting in honor of Mr. Inaba.
Everyone seemed to think it was an ornament, but it was a cake.

After this, my former boss gave a guest speech,
the man I loved most in my corporate life (a senior colleague who helped me a lot) gave a toast,
and after taking photos, it was time for a costume change in what felt like 5 minutes.
What's worth mentioning is that we surprised each other with bouquets of roses.

There was no entertainment, so
the fun part was a quiz corner where the bride and groom acted as MCs.
Since the meetings were already exhausting, we handled it ourselves, including time management.
And then, the surprise movie played without a hitch.
A reverse surprise where I knew there would be a surprise.
I didn't know the content, but I was truly surprised.
The younger colleagues pulled off a parody of the No No Girls audition.
Younger colleagues who are like little sisters from my current workplace also appeared.
Messages from the upper management from my Nagoya days,
and Charlie from Heiwaen also appeared.
(※Details here👉The story of how I wrote tanka after renovating the restroom)
Furthermore, a surprise message from my 94-year-old grandmother, who couldn't attend, was also screened by my younger sister.
With so many surprises,
I cried until I ran out of tears, thinking, 'Of course this is overwhelming...'
My mother, who raised me as a single parent after divorcing, was crying her eyes out, and
my husband's father, who had been PTA president since I could remember, cried throughout his final speech.
In conclusion, weddings are the best!!!
I love everyone, humanity is the best!!!
There were many things that happened to get here, but
overcoming various things together might be the true meaning of working together as a married couple.
I am truly grateful to the planner girl and the manager now.
It has become a long story,
and since more than a year's salary flew away in one day,
I am working desperately again now, but
my mindset has changed a little since the Hepalyse cost incident, as I want to pursue satisfaction that exceeds people's expectations.
To the venue that gave me a great realization and the greatest happiness, I would like to wish everyone good health and happiness in closing.
Ah, I want to have a wedding about 5 more times.

Thank you for reading until the end.
It would encourage me if you could take a look at this as well.
