School Refusal Resetting After Winter Break | The Reality of Sensitive Children in Separate Classrooms Being Exhausted by 6th Period and Unable to Wake Up the Next Day (˚>ᯅ<)
💭 Is there anyone else struggling with the same thing??
💭 I hope reading this makes you feel like you're not alone.
After winter break.
“Are we back to square one again...?”
That’s how I’ve been feeling lately.
For children who are school-refusing, attending separate classrooms, or are highly sensitive,
school life after a long break might be more burdensome than we can imagine.
On days with 6 periods, both mind and body reach their limit
On days with 6 periods,
when my child comes home, they are exhausted and unable to move.
Conversation becomes scarce
Homework is out of the question
Even taking a bath takes a long time
They want time to just zone out
😔 “You did your best today, didn't you?”
Even while thinking that, as a parent, my heart can't keep up, and I end up feeling anxious.
Unable to wake up the next day... the repeating cycle
When the next morning comes,
Their body feels heavy
They say their head or stomach hurts
Their expression darkens when we talk about school
They don't even get up in the first place
Managed to go → Exhausted → Can't wake up → Stay home
🔁 Has anyone else experienced this cycle??
I feel like we’ve gone back to square one. (˚>ᯅ<)
It might not be a setback, but exhaustion (´•ω•̥`)…
💬 It's not that they can't try, it's that they are trying too hard.
I don't think this isa setback.
Sensitive children use all their energy just by going to school.
Spent time in a separate room
Endured until the 6th period
Tried to go
Went for just a little bit
That alone is enough effort.
Is a parent's worry just a reflection of their love?
Is it okay to leave things as they are?
Will their future be okay?
Am I spoiling them?
😢 Unable to vent to anyone, carrying it all alone. The reality might be that even if you seek advice, you don't end up being understood. Perhaps only those who have felt the same way can truly understand...
Such worries arise surely because you care deeply for your child.
Learning from famous quotes📖
“90% of worries never happen”
👉 Much of our anxiety is just imagining the future. The reality is that your child is here right now.
“Those who move slowly can go far”
👉 There is no need to compare them to others. Your child's pace has meaning.
