The Power of Words: The first words you speak in the morning change your day
― A habit to center your mind ① ―
I woke up in the morning.
Through the gap in the curtains,
soft light is streaming in.
Looking at the clock,
it's my usual wake-up time.
“I want to sleep for just five more minutes.”
Thinking that,
I slowly get up.

I used to,
say these words first thing in the morning.
“I'm sleepy.”
“It's going to be a busy day again.”
“Is it Monday already?”
Even though the day hadn't even started yet,
I was starting it with a sigh.
Of course,
there are days when I'm truly sleepy (laughs).
I'm not particularly good at mornings either.
But one morning,
I suddenly thought,
the very first thing
Who is it that is listening to those words?
I wonder who it is.
Is it your family?
No, it is not.
The one who hears them first,
is actually yourself.
I used to be someone who
spoke kind words to others.
"Good luck."
"Don't push yourself too hard."
"Take care."
But,
I never once said those things to myself.
On the contrary,
"I have to hurry!"
"Don't be late!"
"I have to pull myself together!"
I was always rushing myself from the moment I woke up.
Even though it was the start of the day,
I was putting
pressure on myself.
One day,
I tried changing my words as an experiment.

In front of the mirror,
A little shyly,
"I'm counting on you today, too."
I tried saying that.
To whom?
To myself (laughs).
At first, it was embarrassing,
and I felt like the me in the mirror
"What's gotten into you?"
was the look on its face,
I felt (laughs).
But,
it was strange.
That day,
was a busy day.
There were things that
didn't go as planned.
Even so,
in the morning,
the feeling of having cheered myself on
stayed with me the whole time
It had been lingering somewhere in my heart.
At that moment,
I suddenly thought.
Every day,
I was preparing to go out.
Fixing my hair,
choosing my clothes,
and checking that I hadn't forgotten anything.
But,
preparing to settle my heart,
perhaps I hadn't been doing that.
Even though I have time to groom my appearance,
I hadn't said a single word
to my heart.
Lately,
in the morning,
when I open the curtains,
I take one deep breath,
and I make sure to say this.

"I'm counting on you today."
Just those few words.
In terms of time,
It doesn't even take five seconds.
But,
those five seconds,
can help you start your day
a little more gently.
A habit of centering your mind
doesn't have to be anything special.
In the morning,
saying a kind word to yourself
is enough toget started.
That is what I believe.
If tomorrow morning,
you remember this article,
why not say this
to yourself in the mirror?
How about saying this?
I'm counting on you today, too.
That one phrase,
might just become
your ally for the day.
🍀 A little bit of knowledge
In psychology,
the words you direct toward yourself
**"self-talk"**
are called
self-talk.
Various studies have shown that
self-talk can influence
your mood, behavior, and how you carry your confidence.
That is precisely why,
the words you offer yourself
first thing in the morning
might be
more important than you think.
I
"I'm counting on you today, too."
start my day
with that one phrase.
To those reading for the first time,
I
"Adjusting the heart through words"
with the theme of
write on note every day.
Recently,
"A life of adjusting the heart, starting with words"
I have also been writing about little by little.

I would be happy if you took a peek at my profile too🍀
