Lazy Vegetarian Cooking🤭 Dinner at the Neru House🍚 (Part 3) Steamed New Onion with Greens, Olive Oil, and Ponzu
Good evening😊
Today I picked up some seasonal spring vegetables, "new onions with greens" and "new ginger," so I'm getting right to cooking✨

🌿New Onion with Greens × Olive Oil ×
Steamed with Ponzu
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Ingredients
New onion with greens (the greens are edible too✨)
Cherry tomatoes
Ponzu sauce
Garlic, salt, black pepper, ground sesame seeds
That's all you need☝✨
・Black pepper → tightens the flavor
・A little garlic → adds a punch
・Sesame for the finish → adds Japanese depth
This is definitely going to be delicious🤭
The "sizzle" sound alone makes this a winning dish✨
Instructions
Cut the onion greens diagonally into bite-sized pieces
Cut the onion into quarters lengthwise
・Sauté minced garlic in olive oil until fragrant.
・Sear the onions until they are well-browned.
→ This is the switch to bring out the sweetness of the onions🔥
・Add the ponzu at the very end with a sizzle.
→ If you add it too early, the acidity will evaporate too much,
so finishing with a quick steam is best✨
・The greens go in at the very last moment.
→ 10 to 20 seconds is enough.
They are there to leave a gentle, fragrant aroma.
The moment the new onions sizzle and turn sweet in the pan, you'll surely be grinning🤭
The "sizzle!" sound when you add the ponzu is like a signal for a little feast✨
Once you gently top it with the greens, spring is complete🌱
At the Neru house, we use this ponzu🌱
It's additive-free, with simple ingredients, making it a safe and reliable choice🥰

a refreshing, sparkling touch of ponzu✨
Don't forget to add cherry tomatoes too🍅
The way the gentle green aroma of the leaves layers over it...
It's an all-rounder that goes perfectly with both rice and bread🍚🍞

But... onions are a no-go~(ヾノ・∀・`)
Kai and Jazz also look at me with faces that say, "Does that go well with our food too?"🐱🤍🖤 (lol)
