Focus on Cost-Performance! Super Effective Use of 100-Yen Calendars
Thank you as always! This is Kaiun-san.
Looking forward to working with you again today too 😊
Today, I received a request for a calendar from a customer.
"I'm counting on you for next year's calendar again this time."
As Kaiun-san, I am very happy to receive such news.
That is because they are looking forward to the items I distribute, which are super-cheap calendars that I have modified and transformed.
Even something like this is well-received.
Yes. I, Kaiun-san, distribute original calendars every year.
Of course, I don't prepare them for every single customer.
Only for A-rank customers.
I suppose you could call them my valued clients.
Even so, that's roughly 30 of them, I suppose.
In terms of my feelings, I would like to distribute them to all customers, but considering the cost and time, it ends up being only for my best customers.
A calendar only has meaning if it is handed over in person.
Mailing them is no good.
The sense of gratitude for receiving it is completely diminished.
Now, regarding that popular super-cheap calendar, the reason it is super-cheap is actually because I source them from 100-yen shops.
Every year, around this time in December, 100-yen shops display various calendars, don't they?
It goes without saying, but they are all 100 yen.
Even similar items cost about 500 yen at a home improvement store.
But there is no difference in the items.
In the first place, a calendar is just something you hang on the wall, so a 100-yen product is sufficient.
The recommended calendar design, or rather specifications, is a type that hangs on the wall, is reasonably large, and allows you to write schedules in the date boxes.
This part about "being able to write schedules" is important.
Because, as you realize when you distribute calendars, customers often ask, "Is this one where I can write my schedule?"
From the customer's perspective, if they are going to receive one anyway, they would think that one where they can write in the date boxes is good.
I think so.
This is the factor behind their popularity.
So, I buy as many as I need.
Next, stick a label printed with your business name onto the calendar, and you're done!
To do this, you'll need something else from a 100-yen shop: A4-sized 'label paper,' which is a sheet that is entirely adhesive.
Simply print your business name, such as 'XX Service,' many times on this sheet, cut them out, and stick them onto the calendar.
By doing this, you can create dozens of 'business name labels' from a single sheet of label paper, making it very cost-effective.
As for where to place these business name labels on the calendar, you should stick them in any empty space available.
There is a white strip at the very top of the calendar, right? That's where you put the thumbtacks.
Stick it on either the left or right side of that area, whichever you prefer.
Since this position is at the very top and highly visible, customers will see your business name all year round. It makes for great advertising.
By the way, glossy label paper looks great because it's shiny.
With just this, your original calendar is complete.
If you have money to burn, you can just have a printing shop make your calendars.
But isn't it ridiculous to spend money on calendars?
Even banks have stopped handing out calendars so freely lately. Businesses are also using smaller sizes than before.
Everyone is making an effort to be more efficient, everywhere.
Of course, I don't recommend this to people who are concerned about appearances.
I especially recommend it to those who have just started their business.
It's not always about spending money on everything.
If you want to distribute flashy, cool calendars, let's wait until you've made a fortune.
True fans will be happy with whatever you give them.
Increasing the number of such fans, even by one, should be your priority.
