Time-Saving Exercise Habits Starting from 1 Minute a Day [Morning Activity Burpee Research Journal] #259
"Days you return are stronger than perfect days"
Morning Activity Burpee Research Journal (2026/5/15)
Session Overview
Set Name: 1-minute burpee (Standard operation | Chest strap | No jump, no PU, alternating flutter kick squats)
Reps: 15 reps (First half 7 / Second half 8) / Second half maintenance rate=114.3% / Initial movement: 2 reps/10s (5.00 s/rep)
Heart Rate: Start 103 → 30 seconds 129 → End 140 / Average 129, Max 140 / HRR60=55 / RPE=7.5
60-second average tempo: 60÷15 = 4.00 s/rep / ΔHR30=+26 bpm (103 → 129)
Physical Sensation Notes
I still have the feeling from yesterday.
Rather than pushing myself while dragging fatigue, it's better to move while conditioning my body today.
Today is a hybrid burpee that mixes flutter kicks into the squat movement.
I'm skipping push-ups.
I'm also not jumping.
Instead, I'm using my legs thoroughly.
It's a form designed to condition while moving, rather than just resting.
I set the timer for 1 minute and started.
When I tried it, it was busier than I expected.
My legs, in particular, didn't get a rest.
Because of the flutter kicks, it doesn't end with just simple squats.
It requires rhythm, so it surprisingly uses my brain too.

The result was 15 reps.
・Max heart rate: 140
・Aerobic zone (HRR 80% or higher): 0 seconds
・Anaerobic zone (HRR 90% or higher): 0 seconds
Just by removing push-ups, the feeling of fatigue is significantly lighter.
Furthermore, just by not jumping, the impact on the whole body is greatly reduced.
Of course, as long as there is a squat movement, the fatigue in the legs won't be zero.
In fact, my legs were busy today.
It's not too heavy.
It's tough, but manageable.
Still, it's just right for a morning activity.
This "tough but not too heavy" feeling really clicked for me today.
Active rest might look like just taking it easy.
But I think it's actually an adjustment of where to leave the load and where to release it.
In that sense, it was a good balance today.
Today's Evaluation
Second half build (7→8) is good: A retention rate of **114.3%** under these conditions is excellent. As the movement became more familiar to the body, the rotation increased in the second half.
Metabolic load is modest: Average 129, Max 140, T80=0s. Today was not a day to chase cardio, but a day to connect movements with low impact
HRR60=55 is quite good: Circulation recovery is fast, and I finished without accumulating too much fatigue. Content suitable for a recovery day.
Metabolic Load Score

Those who lack time are the ones who should do 1 minute of bodyweight exercise.

Due to the nature of their work, many people travel frequently and find it difficult to secure a block of time for training.
Even with "just 1 minute of exercise," you can create time to feel changes in your body. Burpees require no equipment or space. That is why you can do them in a hotel room. By facing your own body for "1 minute in the morning," it becomes a
habit that allows you to start your day positively.
For detailed instructions on how to do burpees, please see this article. You will learn how to do burpees in a time-saving way that you can continue even if you are not good at exercise.
