You can find what you want to do by listing what you don't want to do
Good evening, everyone.
Thank you very much for visiting from among so many options.
Today, I will talk about "You can find what you want to do by listing what you don't want to do."
(This article explains why I write about self-improvement.
Please take a look if you'd like.)
The concept is [Self-improvement that even people who don't read books can enjoy and understand].
I will post using my own expressions, based on the knowledge I gain from reading 365 books a year.
Also, my articles are recommended for people like this:
*️⃣ People who think self-improvement sounds difficult but are interested in it
*️⃣ People who want to solve the worries they are currently facing
*️⃣ People who don't read books
*️⃣ People who want necessary information but, when browsing books in a store, wonder, "Where should I look among these 200 pages?"—I explain it clearly and pinpoint the information.
After reading, I hope you feel:
✳️ That self-improvement is interesting
✳️ That you might be able to solve your worries
✳️ That you gained knowledge that leads to growth
✳️ That the necessary information was easier to understand than browsing a book
I would be happy if you could feel the above.
Do you have these kinds of worries?
For example
*️⃣ I can't find what I want to do
*️⃣ I think, "What can I do?" but I don't know
*️⃣ People tell me, "Do what you want to do," but I give up looking, saying, "There is nothing I want to do."
Have you had experiences like this?
Today, I will teach you knowledge that will help people like you.
In conclusion
✅[By narrowing down what you "don't want to do" instead, it becomes easier to understand what you want to do]
How to utilize this
You often hear
✳️ ["Please write down what you want to do"]
I think you hear that.
However, what I am teaching today is the opposite pattern.
It might look familiar, but
have you ever had the experience of being told to "write down what you want to do" and not being able to?
This is a method that takes advantage of that.
The method is simple.
✅You just have to write down everything you don't want to do.
A certain research result is related to this.
According to the University of Massachusetts,
🈁[It is known that "people are 7 times more influenced by negative emotions than positive emotions"]
People are naturally good at thinking about what they don't want to do.
In other words, because of this research result, "things you don't want to do" come out easily.
Concrete example
For example, in the case of job hunting
[Things I don't want to do]
*️⃣ Overtime
*️⃣ Manual labor
*️⃣ Sales
*️⃣ Having quotas
*️⃣ Retail
*️⃣ Customer service
In this case, this person considers
❌Sales
❌Customer service
❌Manual labor (civil engineering or transport)
The above are jobs they do not want to do.
In that case, the job I want to do is
⭕️administrative work
which seems to fit.
You can surprisingly easily narrow down what you want to do.
This time it was an example of job hunting, but it can also be used for things like this.
*️⃣Things you want to do in the future
*️⃣Things you want to do in your daily tasks
*️⃣When helping others realize what they "want to do"
And so on, it can be applied in various ways, so I recommend it.
In conclusion
You might think that "writing down what you don't want to do is a negative task."
However,
🈁in the end, you can often find what you want to do.
In fact, there are people around me who have practiced this and found what they "want to do."
It is certainly negative at first, but since you find it in the end and finish on a positive note, there is no need to feel down.
If you have been thinking about "what you want to do" and haven't found it yet, please give this a try.
I sincerely hope that my article will lead to your future growth.
To summarize
✅It is easy to come up with many "things you don't want to do."
That is precisely why "what you want to do" naturally becomes visible.
That is all.
I will post again on 9/5.
