note is like cooking! Why being 'just useful' won't get you read
Even if I write a blog every day, it doesn't get read.
What is the difference between a blog that gets read and mine?
That was how I felt in the past. With the blog I used to write, the number of 'likes' I got was at most in the single digits.
However, once I changed my perspective a little and made some adjustments, I gained the experience of growing a 'blog that gets read' with nearly 3,000 followers before I knew it.
Today, I will introduce the one trick I keep in mind to write a'note that gets read'.
By the way, when I wrote on note keeping this trick in mind, I felt a similar response. My current note gets over 3,000 views per week. (I don't have monthly statistics yet.)The maximum number of 'likes' per article is 120.
I am very happy that it is still increasing little by little. In the next chapter, I will introduce the tips you should keep in mind when writing a note.
Deliver 'emotions' rather than 'information'
The other day, I read an article by Hiroomi Sueyoshi, the author of 'The Courage to Turn Your Output into Money,' who has 25,000 followers on note.
What Mr. Sueyoshi wrote was, 'When conveying information or methods, adding emotion creates more attractive and readable writing'.
Information fills the head, but emotion moves the heart
Reading this article, I felt the excitement of 'I knew it!'
What I still always keep in mind when writing a note is the movement of emotions! When I want to convey information I have obtained, I make sure to write it as a set withpast experiences and emotional movements.
Writing with emotion invites empathy
In a world overflowing with information, what is sought after more than useful knowledge is empathy. To use a cooking analogy, information is the 'ingredients' and emotion is the 'seasoning'. If you put them together, you get a delicious 'meal'.
Thankfully, I have started to receive many comments and feedback. Thank you!
I saw a post on X related to Kanazawa-san's note, and '[Sad News] The reason why notes aren't read was hidden in 'The Little Match Girl'' really hit home!
I believe that the reason I am able to receive such comments is because I write with a focus on 'emotion'.
With information + emotion, your note will really get through
So, when you have information you want to convey, I want you to add your emotional experiences and personal touches as seasoning.
Expressing your emotions openly takes a lot of courage. I get it. I really do. But if you do it, your world might just change.
If you feel a bit resistant to writing pieces filled with emotion, it's also good to practice little by little in your daily life.
Any 'information' becomes one-of-a-kind when 'emotion' is added to it.
I'll repeat this because it's important: any information becomes original when paired with your emotions and experiences. It will reach the hearts of those who need it and spark interest, making them think, 'I want to hear more from this person.'
The information you have is the 'ingredients.' I want you to use the 'seasoning' within you to finish it off deliciously.
I sincerely hope that your thoughts and what you want to convey reach the people who need them.
I write about insights on creating 'notes that get read.'
In this way, I share the things I've noticed while writing notes every day as a web writer. There might be other things that can help you, too. I would be happy if you clicked the link below and followed me from my top page.
