Going All Out for My Daughters Who Want to Be Tigers: Part 2 #AIandIndependentResearch
Click here for the first part
I am participating in #AIandIndependentResearch.
In the previous article, I had the generative AI Gemini come up withtraining activities for my 2-year-old and 5-year-old daughters who want to be tigersfor me.
From here on, it is finally Mom's turn.
1: Making Tiger Training Cards Together
First, I'll cut out the base of the printed cards... wait!

My 2-year-old is practicing with scissors.
Perhaps because she knows she can't cut as well as her big sister, she isn't usually very enthusiastic about 'scissor worksheets,' but seeing Mom and her sister having fun preparing, she started cutting with gusto today...
I couldn't help but say 'Oh no!', but it's fine, it's fine. The fact that she wanted to do it and took on the challenge is what matters most!
The cards are finished after being repaired with tape.
My 5-year-old daughter, who deciphered the pictures, insists that she wants to do the 'jump' training right away.
...But wait a second, one more preparation before that.
Gemini also suggested a stamp card, so I'll make a stamp.
Come to think of it, I used to be into eraser stamps...! I remembered that, and somehow managed to finish a paw print stamp.Honestly, Mom is having fun.

And the moment she saw the stamp, my 5-year-old daughter'screative spirit was ignited.
She likes crafts just as much as tigers, so tiger x crafts is the ultimate activity.

2: 'Phenomenal Jumping Power' Card
Once she was satisfied with the crafts, it was time for jump practice!
We do this all the time, but today, I'll start the jumping while announcing like a teacher, in the style of official training.

Honestly, Mom had a secret motive here.
(Jump practice, which usually continues until we're both exhausted, is tough. I want to get them focused and excited, and use ' a stamp when you're done!' as bait to finish it quickly... )
...But reality was not that sweet.
I diligently accompanied her jumping, and after stamping her card, she said, 'We also have to practice jumping over from this sofa!'
...!
As if to say the jumps until now were just a warm-up, in the end, just like always, she kept doing tiger jumps even after I got tired of it.
3: 'Tiger Language' Card
The next day.
As soon as she woke up, my 5-year-old daughter was raring to go, saying 'Let's do tiger cards,' and chose 'Tiger Language'.

Gemini's card says 'Tiger language chat time'.
What is tiger language...? Are there different types of roars...?
When I'm stuck on the knowledge side, it's time for YouTube and NotebookLM!
I'll feed videos from around the world like 'Tiger roar language' or 'how to talk to tiger' into NotebookLM and have it create an explanatory video. This is amazing, it's like listening to a TED talk.

Hmm, I see words like Scent and Tail. It's not just about the voice, but using the five senses to express 'words'. While explaining that to my daughters, we practiced roaring along with the video.
My daughters used to only have one way of roaring: "Grawwwr!"
While watching the video, they learned to distinguish between three types: Roar, Growl, and Hiss. They are definitely getting closer to being tigers...!

4: Things AI Cannot Know
After playing through the activities suggested by Gemini, I suddenly realized something. As a reflection on #AIandIndependentResearch, would you mind listening?
Generative AI is certainly reliable.
It knows everything—the ecology of tigers, effective ways to play, and even beautiful card designs. But there are things it doesn't know.
Those are things that can only be known by the human who is 'there in this very moment'.
My 2-year-old daughter actually wanted to try using scissors.
I used to be into eraser stamps, and I feel like I might get into it again.
My 5-year-old daughter wants to do crafts before playing pretend tiger.
When the three of us are jumping, the look of 'More!' on my daughters' faces when I get out of breath and complain, 'Shall we stop now...?'
These signs from children that you can't receive unless you are focused on the 'now' right there cannot be obtained even if you are talking to Gemini on your smartphone.
(...And you can't get them if you are playing pretend half-heartedly while looking at social media on your phone. Note to self.)
AI provides suggestions based on past data, and I provide experiences in this very moment.
It might actually be a good combination.
In the end, no matter how much technology advances, the role of a parent cannot be 'tiger-ed' (taken) away.
...... Just kidding 🐯
Now, what cards should we play with tomorrow?

▼ I have released the PDF data for the cards in the first part. If your child wants to be a tiger, please feel free to use them!
▼ I used AI for my 'Myaku-Myaku' fan activities. Please check that out as well!
▼ I am also enjoying extensive reading in English while raising my children. Here is the story of how I realized it's a study method that is compatible with the parenting generation!
