[Synopsis]
About three hundred years after the heroes of light sealed away the darkness, the signs of darkness were once again eroding the daily lives of the people in the world.
A young knight who had collapsed on the side of the road is found by Elise, an unconventional magic-wielding girl. Having lost even his own name, he is arbitrarily named "Artorius" and sets out on a journey with Elise and Zeke, a con artist. Along the way, the bloodline of the heroes inherited by the three is gradually revealed.
Encounters with Baltro, a fixer in the underworld, and Silva, a female swordsman wearing a silver mask. A strange change occurs in his deeply loving uncle, Will. The shadow of the evil god that is eating away at the world leads the three toward an inescapable fate.
The love entrusted to them and the atonement they must bear.
Can the "resonance" played by the three bring true harmony to the world across the ages?

Prologue: "The End of the Echo"
Before my eyes lay a sea of fire spreading in red and pitch-black darkness. And that darkness was gradually eroding everything around it, slowly staining my entire field of vision black.
Looking up, what was falling from the sky was not a blessing of rain, but heated ash and gravel of burnt stone. The spire of the church, which once boasted of its beauty, had been cruelly snapped in half, turning into a pillar of fire piercing the heavens.
"...Rios! While there's still time..., ...hurry, hurry and run away!"
Deep in my ears, someone was screaming. A voice trembling with despair—terribly nostalgic, and yet the one I least wanted to hear right now.
But from my throat, only a wheezing, raspy sound emerged, and I could not form words. The hilt of the sword I gripped was slippery with a slimy sensation—I could not tell if it was my own blood or the blood of someone I failed to protect—and I could not even manage to stand up.
Standing before me was a giant "shadow".
It was too unreasonable to be called a living thing, shimmering as if it were the embodiment of "nothingness" itself in this world. It devoured light, scraped away sound, and just by being there, it painted the world into "nothingness".
The "chivalry" and "justice" I had once admired and whose footsteps I had followed were utterly powerless in this desperate situation.
"Run... away..."
I do not know who I said it to. To myself, or perhaps to someone behind me.
Suddenly, I heard something snap deep within my chest. It was a sound more beautiful and more cruel than any instrument in this world.
"...Do not let the light die out..."
With those final words, my consciousness rapidly grew cold.
Even the intense pain faded away, and the sounds of the burning streets and the screams of my loved ones all sank into the depths of the ocean.
Only one thing remained.
A faint, yet never-fading "melody" echoing from beyond the depths of despair.

Once, there existed only a brilliantly shining light.
Nothing could exist within a light that was too strong. Realizing this, the light divided itself into "Light" and "Shadow," and wove this world into being.
The spirit of light, "Luminalis," bestowed color, warmth, and beautiful resonance, and the world awakened.
However, the divided spirit of shadow, "Luminalis Shadow," believed that the original "Nothingness" was the true form of perfect beauty. To return everything to nothing, the shadow unleashed monsters upon the world.
Light and shadow were originally one. If the shadow vanishes, the world will also vanish.
Therefore, Luminalis did not erase the shadow, but divided its power into three crests and entrusted their sealing to humanity. The crests granted power to tools and to swords.
The sword of light does not shine to erase the darkness.
It shines to illuminate the darkness that is too deep, to suppress the light that is too overwhelming, and to play the "harmony" that allows the world to continue.
It was a melody called hope, echoing from the abyss of despair.

Originally, this was a work I began writing to help people enjoy my music more deeply. Since I primarily focused on music for RPGs, I created a classic fantasy story that pays respect to JRPGs.
