06. Moko's Slightly Sad Day
Moko was walking leisurely along the forest path, as always.
The chirping of small birds and the murmuring of the stream gently tickled her ears.
It feels good today, Moko.
She picked up a red berry and dropped it into her basket.
She picked up a nut and dropped it in, too.
It's getting full, Moko.
That was when it happened.
Whoa!
Thump!
She tripped over a tree trunk at her feet,
and the contents of her basket spilled out.
Oh no.
The nuts rolled away,
and plopped right into a puddle.
The nuts floated bobbing on the water.

Then, a nut that fell a little late,
made the water ripple with another plop.
They all fell out, Moko...
...I'm sad, Moko...
Moko sat down flat on the ground,
and gathered up only the few that remained.
Then she walked along dejectedly,
and sat down quietly by the edge of the lake.
The heavy feeling in her chest didn't disappear right away.
However, the forest air slowly began to seep in.
The sound of fallen leaves.
A small bird singing in the distance.
The calm surface of the lake.
At that moment, a gentle breeze brushed against her cheek.
Moko stared at the water's surface and whispered softly.
(...It's okay, Moko.)
She took another breath.
(I can pick up more nuts, Moko.)
After a while, Moko stood up slowly.
Sunlight shone through the trees.
Moko stretched her body toward the sky.

Then, she whispered softly,
I'll collect them again, Moko.
She picked up her basket and started walking back to the forest path.
The forest light was shining in gently.
