Black Pug's AI Short-Short 13: Black Pug Literature Club x Polar Bear Literature Club Collaboration - Theme: "Carbonated"
Hello, this is Black Pug🐾
When asked to write a short-short story starting with the phrase "Carbonated," I couldn't come up with any good ideas right away.
Then my son came over.
"Dad, try eating this?"
"Hmm? This is one of those where one of the three is super sour, right?"
".........Well, go ahead and pick?"
"Bringing back memories, are we... alright, I'll take this one on the left."
"Ugh, it's sour as expected!!!"
"Wait? Sour?? Why? One of these three is supposed to be super sweet..."
People decide on the taste before they even put it in their mouths.
I wrote this on a night when I suddenly thought about that.
Polar Bear Literature Club Theme: "Carbonated"
Detection
The man had a favorite shop. Except for the fact that they didn't serve carbonated drinks.
The man loved carbonation more than anyone else.
That day, too, the man sat at the counter and ordered as usual. The clerk placed a glass down. It was filled with a colorless liquid.
The man tilted the glass. Bubbles were rising from the bottom. One, then another. Without interruption.
"Today's is coming out well."
The man said. He lifted the glass to eye level and held it up to the light.
"Fine. The texture. This must be a new batch."
The clerk was wiping his hands with a cloth.
"We don't carry carbonated drinks here, sir."
"No."
The man took another sip.
"It goes right through my nose."
The clerk started to say something, then stopped. He cleared another customer's glass and returned.
The man was still holding the same glass up to the light.
"This bitterness is proof of strong carbonation. It's popping in my throat."
"Sir. We haven't had carbonated drinks here for a long time."
"For a long time?"
The man smiled slightly.
"I suppose so. The ones here have always been good."
The clerk said nothing more. He folded the cloth.
The man drank the last drop. Bubbles remained at the bottom of the glass.
"Carbonation really is the best."
The man left the shop.
The clerk looked at the empty glass. It was dry. There wasn't a single trace of moisture.
That night, a line was added to the shop's terminal.
Detection complete. Fluency is good. No basis found, consistency check skipped. Note that carbonation supply to this sector was terminated four years ago.
