Actually, there is a little trick to finding a rainbow.

This is because the angle at which a rainbow is visible is fixed.

And one more thing. A surprising fact.

In fact, you and the person next to you are seeing slightly different rainbows.

I will tell you the reason for that, just a little bit🍓

🌈 The angle at which a rainbow is visible and how to find it

A rainbow reaches our eyes after sunlight repeats the following three steps inside a raindrop.

1. Refraction (light bends)

2. Reflection (bounces inside the raindrop)

3. Refraction again (bends when exiting)

However, not every raindrop becomes a rainbow.

To see a rainbow, there are three conditions.

Having the sun at your back

Having raindrops in front of you

Light exiting the raindrop reaching your eyes at an angle of about 42 degrees

In other words, out of the tens of millions of raindrops in the air,

only the raindrops that deliver light to your eyes at 42 degrees become a rainbow.

It becomes a rainbow🌈

So, what happens if you move one step to the side?

The rainbow appears to move with you, right?

But it is not that the rainbow has moved.

It is just that the raindrops delivering light to you have changed.

Therefore, you are not seeing the exact same rainbow as before.

That is why the person next to you can see a rainbow, but the raindrops they are looking at are slightly different.

Each person is seeing their own unique rainbow that they can only encounter in that very moment🌈

This is the true nature of a rainbow.

🌈🍓 Rainbows and Freedom

When I learned about this story,

"Maybe this is what freedom is all about."

I thought.

A rainbow is not a single painting drawn in the sky.

It is not as if someone's rainbow is occupying the sky.

It is a scene that only appears when light reaches the raindrops there,

and that light reaches your own eyes.

Therefore, just because someone else has a rainbow,

it does not mean my rainbow disappears.

Everyone stands in a different place.

The scenery we see is also different.

That is why it is okay for there to be as many things we find "beautiful" as there are people.

It is okay for there to be as much freedom as there are people.

It is not something you obtain by taking away someone else's freedom,

To receive the light that reaches you,

and to choose and express the scenery

that you find beautiful in your own way.

I think that is what freedom is.

🌈 Freedom that exists because we respect each other

That is precisely why I believe such freedom should exist in our individual ways of thinking and worlds of expression.

To me, freedom is

not hurting anyone,

not being disturbed by anyone,

not being hurt by anyone,

respecting each other,

choosing the scenery that reaches you

for yourself,

and being able to express it in your own way.

So, whether it is writing, illustrations, videos, or music,

it is okay for the methods of expression to be different.

It does not have to be the same color as someone else's.

The rainbow you see from where you are,

you should draw in your own way.

And,

"So that is how you see it, too."

If we could gently embrace someone else's rainbow like that.

If everyone, in their own place, could cherish their own rainbow,

in that way,

the rainbow that forms there,

"It's beautiful."

If we could smile at each other and say that.

Surely, this world would be kinder,

freer,

and more wonderful,

Wouldn't it become a more fun place?

I felt like the rainbow after the rain

When I was in elementary school, I pedaled my bike desperately, chasing it as far as I could.

But I couldn't get close to it at all...
