Hello, I'm Hitsuji Natsume☀️🌈
Today is a story about being a tester for KITAcore's 'Pon-dashi Builder+'.
And, a story about art style🎨🖌️

Since I mainly use Midjourney/Nijijourney,
I mainly verified the output from Midjourney/Nijijourney･:*+.\(( °ω° ))/.:+

This is my main style from the Niji6 era.
I like it, so I still use it lol
(Due to internal updates, even if I use Niji6,
it doesn't result in the exact same style as before...)

Just like with hand-drawing, even when generating images with AI, something like your own 'art style' gradually solidifies.

I think that is basically a good thing.

“Having people recognize whose work it is at a glance”
is very important.

The light I like.
The colors I like.
The composition I like.
The way the characters stand that I like.

Those things gradually pile up,
“Oh, this feels like me” and pictures that make you think that start to appear.

But, at the same time—

Without realizing it,
sometimes I only create images within my own habits.
To be more honest, I keep repeating the style that people told me they liked.

Yes, I end upplaying it safewithout meaning to.

An art style that is uniquely yours is important.
But sometimes, it can also become a cage within yourself.

This time, while testing KITAcore's 'Pon-dashi Builder+',
that was the thing I felt most strongly.

Images came out that I probably wouldn't have drawn if it were the usual me.

That was quite interesting.

The usual me tends to create quiet pictures

First of all, I often create pictures in this direction.

A water surface with transparency, lotus flowers, a quiet figure.
A picture with negative space, as if light is melting away.

A wolf boy and a cat.
Blue-toned flowers, white background, a picture focused on the character's expression.

Japanese style, watercolor, ornamentation, divinity.
A direction that shows 'presence' or 'poise' rather than movement.

A screen leaning towards monochrome, with a splash of vermilion.
A quiet tension and a figure with suppressed emotions.

When I line them up like this,
my preferences are quite easy to see, haha.

Transparency.
Quietness.
Androgynous figures.
A world with a touch of mystery.
Pictures that intentionally don't show strong emotions too much on the face.

Perhaps I,
rather than 'the moment of movement',
prefer to draw the atmosphere of 'just before something happens' or 'after something has ended'.

But the pictures that came out this time were a little different.

The images that came out this time using KITAcore's tool were a little different from my usual direction.

And, a sense of dynamism.

A composition that looks like diving in.
The flow of the figure's body is strong, and there is speed throughout the entire screen.

Motorcycle, bird's-eye view, sense of speed.
An expression enjoying the real-time experience.
And an angle I wouldn't normally choose myself.

Magic circle, looking-down composition, strong blue glow.
A 'properly wicked smile' as if plotting something.
The flashy anime style truly becomes the charm of the screen.

Looking-up composition.
Miniskirt, goth, maid with a handgun.
A fusion of worldviews and a slight glitch.
…and a little bit sensitive, lol.

After testing it,
what was particularly significant was
the sense of movementand
the bold angles.

I usually like to place characters quite carefully.

So that their faces are visible.
So that their outfits don't get too disheveled.
So that the atmosphere isn't ruined.

When I do that, the composition inevitably becomes stable.

Stability isn't a bad thing, but
on the flip side, it means less adventure on the screen.

The images this time easily jumped over that.

'Wait, you're looking from that angle?'
'I'd be too scared to specify that kind of movement.'
'So Niji7's anime-leaning art can be produced like this.'

With that feeling,
I felt like my own drawers were being opened from the outside.

What was born from opening those drawers was
the one image that became the basis for my previous article.

Military-style outfit and brushwork that seems to crumble.
It's quiet, but the density and pressure of the screen are strong.

It's an image that greatly expanded the worldview of the sheep,
I would be happy if you read my previous article as well.

Perhaps I had been avoiding Niji7's anime-style a little bit.

To be honest,
I hadn't been able to master Niji7's anime-style at all.

They come out beautifully.
They have energy.
They have strong character.

But, because of that,
I felt like I was drifting away from the 'stillness' and 'negative space' that I love.

So, even when I used it,
I would lean towards watercolor or Japanese styles,
trying to steer it back toward my comfort zone somewhere.

But seeing the samples this time changed my mind a little.

The strength of the anime style
isn't just about making things flashy.

Guiding the viewer's gaze.
Body movement.
Light and shadow.
Camera distance.

It has the power to push those elements to the forefront all at once.

In other words,
what I haven't been using much,
wasn't the 'anime-ness' itself,
but the power to make the screen moveperhaps.

The beauty of a tool is not that you 'don't have to think,' but that it 'changes how you think'

To some people, this kind of prompt support tool
might look like something to 'make things easier'.

Of course, there are parts that become easier.

You don't have to build English prompts from scratch every time.
You can just pick cards and it takes shape.

But after using it this time, I thought,
maybe the essence isn't just that.

Because the tool exists,
I choose words I wouldn't have chosen myself.
I combine elements I wouldn't have combined myself.
I encounter styles I would have avoided myself.

As a result,
the 'range of what I thought I could create' expands a little.

This is quite significant.

Trying out prompts for compositions I've never done before.
Actually, this takes a lot of energy.

'What words should I use?' 'How should I combine them?'
Setting those hassles aside for a moment,
being able to try it out casually.
This is something I'm very grateful for.

AI image generation may look free,
but in reality, it's quite constrained by your own preferences and the tool's quirks.

Precisely because I have things I like,
I always end up returning to the same direction.

However, when a tool enters that space,
you get pulled slightly by a hand from outside yourself.

It feels like being told, 'There's this option too.'

That was exactly the case for me this time.

Rather than breaking my usual self,

what was good about this test was that
I didn't feel like I had 'lost my sense of self'.

On the contrary,
the things I like became even clearer.

After all, I
love light with transparency,
I love characters with a bit of shadow,
and I love scenes with a quiet emotional quality.

That hasn't changed.

However, building on that,

it's okay to move things more.
It's okay to use more daring angles.
It's okay to use Niji7's anime-style more.

Being able to think that way.

Rather than changing my own style, it feels more like adding a different muscle to it.
It feels like adding a different muscle to my own style.

Not just quiet illustrations,
but also illustrations with movement can be created.

Not just illustrations with negative space,
but also dense illustrations can be created.

Seeing that kind of possibility,
I think, was the biggest takeaway this time.

After testing KITAcore's 'Prompt Builder+',
if I were to summarize my impressions in one word,

An illustration I wouldn't normally draw was born.

That is all there is to it.

It's a story about it being a useful tool, but
more than that, it was a trigger to step slightly outside of my own habits,
that is what it was.

When you continue with AI image generation,
you inevitably want to consistently produce 'the kind of art you like'.

That is important, and
I will probably continue to do so as well.

But once in a while,
it's also good to choose a card you wouldn't choose yourself.

Because sometimes,
the art runs further than you thought it would.

This time, that was the verification.
