Creating days where I wake up naturally without using an alarm

—— It is better for the morning to arrive without you knowing

Mornings always begin with the sound of a machine. When the alarm goes off, I wake up and think somewhere in the back of my mind,
I wake up and
I think somewhere in my head

"Is it starting again today?".

But that day, I decided to go to sleep without setting an alarm.
It was a holiday with a little bit of breathing room, with no work or plans.

I quietly turned off the lights and got into bed.
The sound of the night deepening gradually soaked into my ears.
The sounds of tossing and turning or the rustle of the curtains that I usually don't notice.
It felt as if the world was


gently tucking me in with a blanket

.

The next morning, I didn't wake up to any noise or light, but just naturally, I opened my eyes.
When I looked at the clock, it was an hour later than usual.
But,


strangely, I didn't feel like I had "lost" anything.Rather, I felt like I had properly regained something.

I lay still in bed for a while.
The morning light was bleeding through the curtains, and the sound of birds was slowly tracing the air.

A morning without an alarm is a morning where you wake yourself up, without being rushed by anyone.
It is also, in a small way,
a morning of trusting yourself.

Of course, it's impossible every day.
But sometimes is fine.

It's okay to have days where you just welcome the morning naturally.
On such mornings, I feel like
the contours of daily life soften just a little.
