My second daughter came home trembling after checking her own mock exam scores.
“My score went up by 100 points compared to last time...”
Even if you work hard, the results don't show up immediately.
But if you keep going, the results sometimes arrive a little late.
With this mock exam, it seems my second daughter learned that for herself.

“I’m home...”
My second daughter's voice from the entryway was clearly downcast.
…Oh, that didn't go well.
I braced myself a little, expecting her to come home crying.
Then, my second daughter said, trembling.
“Mom... it’s crazy.My score went up by 100 points compared to last time...”
…Huh?
“I don't know if it's true, my hands and feet are shaking. What do I do...”
So you weren't depressed after all (laughs).
My second daughter doesn't check her own scores at home after a mock exam.
Because if they're bad, she'll end up crying.
So, she checks them in a place where she can calm herself down alone.
This time, the place was Mos Burger.
Apparently, she quietly checked her scores while drinking a cola.
And then.
Her score had gone up more than she expected, and before she could feel happy, she got scared.
Is this really correct?
Did I make a mistake in grading?
Holding onto those thoughts, she said she was desperately trying to stop shaking so she wouldn't get into an accident on her way home (laughs).

She has taken mock exams twice since then.
But I haven't turned all of them into articles.
This time, it was a mock exam I really wanted to write down.
I studied so hard, but the results aren't showing
During the April mock exam.
My second daughter had been studying a lot.
She herself said,
“I studied quite a bit this time. So I'd be happy if my score went up.”
That is precisely why,
she must have been frustrated that she couldn't get the score she wanted.Studying is not something that shows results immediately.
I know that from my children's previous exam experiences.I even wrote something like this in an article quite a while ago.
Mock exam scores actually only go up once a year.
There is no such thing as a "steady upward trend in grades."
At least, not for me or my children.
Even when the cram school takes statistics, they say it's the same.
Sports are the same.
It's a world where it's normal for it to take half a year to master a technique.
That's why I've told my children since they were small.
“It takes a year for results to show. Let's enjoy the process until then.”
Of course, that doesn't mean mock exam scores don't go up at all for a year.
It means that the moments when you can truly feel that you've "grown significantly" don't come around that often.
That's why, even when the results didn't show in the April mock exam, I told my second daughter,
“The studying you're doing now just hasn't shown up in your score yet.”
But.
Understanding something because someone told you and realizing it through your own experience are surely different.
This mock exam was likely when my second daughter truly realized,
“The results of studying don't show up immediately.”
Results arrive a little late
About two months since the April mock exam.
This time, my second daughter's score finally grew significantly.
“Studying doesn't give you results the moment you do it, huh.
They show up with a time lag. I really felt that this time. I'm glad I worked hard back then.”

Mom is happy that you realized that.
Mom is happy that you kept studying until you realized it.
Effort doesn't turn into results the moment you make it.
What you've learned takes root.
Scattered pieces of knowledge connect.
You become able to use them as the power to solve problems.
It really does take time to get there.
The time when results don't show is not time where nothing is being built up.
Even if it's not visible from the outside.
On the inside, your academic ability is growing little by little.
“Studying is fun!”
“Studying is fun!”
She's been saying it over and over these past few days (laughs).
That's right, isn't it.
When results show, it's happy, isn't it.
But it's surely not just that.
Things you didn't understand become understandable.
Scattered knowledge starts to connect.
And.
What you studied leads to results later on.
Isn't it fun because she's started to grasp that feeling for herself?
Even if you work hard, there are many times when results don't show immediately.
Even so, there is a moment when the dots connect after you keep going.
My second daughter is now starting to know that with her own body.
