[No. 366] The Harvest Beyond the Rainy Season—Blueberries and the Cycle of the Seasons 🫐🌿
The rainy season of 2026.
Although the rainy season had begun, days continued where it didn't rain as much as expected.
In the midst of that, a long-awaited rain moistened the field.
Walking through the field after the rain, I noticed that the blueberry fruits were gradually taking shape.

This is the progress before they start to change color.
The harvest season, when they turn blue-purple, is just around the corner.
I look forward to enjoying this year's harvest.
They are not blue yet.
However, they are definitely heading toward ripening.
This time, I would like to record the progress of these blueberries.
I also touched upon the 2026 blueberries in this article.

The spread of the branches that I couldn't have imagined in winter, and the fruits that are gradually increasing.
Once again this year, the seasons begin to move from here.
When you continue farming, you feel not only the growth of vegetables and fruit trees, but also the transition of the seasons themselves.

The field in the rainy season waiting for the harvest 🫐🌧️
Blueberries that bloomed in the spring.
Now they bear small fruits and are preparing for harvest.
Watching the fruits covered in raindrops, I realize that plants live in harmony with the seasons.
Humans tend to be in a hurry for results.
However, plants do not break their own pace.
Flowers bloom, fruit sets, it changes color, and then it heads toward harvest.
Watching that process every year, I feel like I am taught the importance of waiting.

When the harvest season arrives, they don't all ripen at once.
They change color little by little, and we harvest them little by little.
That is why I go to check on the trees so many times.
That time spent is also one of the joys.
The moment I pick a sweetly ripened berry is a joy no matter how many times I experience it.
A harvest that leads to the winter kitchen 🫐🍯
Sometimes we eat the harvested blueberries as they are.
However, in our home, they often become jam.

Winter is just a waypoint on the way to the next harvest.
When spring comes, new buds will appear.
Leaves will spread.
Flowers will bloom.
And now, the fruit is growing.
Because I watch them throughout the year, I can feel those changes more deeply.
Feeling the cycle of the seasons 🫐🌱
As I continue to farm, I encounter various plants.
Potatoes.
Garlic.
Plums.
Ginger.
And blueberries.
Each has a different growing season and a different harvest time.
However, they all have one thing in common.
It is about living in harmony with the flow of the seasons.
Spring comes.
The rainy season comes.
Summer comes.
Autumn comes.
Winter comes.
In that cycle, plants show us a form that is the same yet slightly different every year.
What I feel through the field is not just the vegetables and fruits.
It might be the seasons themselves.
From the rainy season to summer, waiting for the harvest 🫐☀️
The blueberries are not yet ready for harvest.
They will soon change color and enter the peak harvest season.
I also remember getting bitten on the face by mosquitoes while harvesting last year.
This year, I want to prepare for the harvest while also taking measures against insects.

I look forward to the summer harvest that lies ahead.
