[Day 7] 3 things I realized after trying for a week

Yesterday, I wrote about how I tried drawing a blueprint for my "Hair Medication Notebook" using paper and a pen.

Today marks one week since I started this project.

Having come this far,
there are 3 things I have realized.

-----

① You don't have to aim for perfection

At first, I thought,
"I have to build a perfect app."

Include this feature and that feature,
make the design beautiful,
and ensure it works perfectly for anyone who uses it.

I felt that if I didn't build something like that,
there would be no point.

But, here is what I learned after trying for a week.

If you aim for perfection, it will never be finished.

First, build the "minimum viable product."

Listen to the voices of the users,
and improve it from there.

Even if it's not perfect,
if I can achieve the goal of
"protecting future hair with hair history,"

then that is enough.

I have come to think this way.

-----

② If you don't know something, just look it up

I am not tech-savvy.

I have no idea how to build an app.

No-code tools?
Development companies?
UI/UX?
API?

I was in a state of "What is that?"

But, if you don't know something,
you can just look it up.

Watch tutorial videos on YouTube.
Read blog posts.
Inquire with development companies.

Look things up one by one,
and understand them one by one.

The process of turning the unknown
into the known
is surprisingly fun.

Even if I don't understand it completely,
if I can grasp the "general idea of what this is,"
I can move forward.

I realized that.

-----

③ When you take action, the shape becomes visible

The biggest realization in this past week.

Just thinking in your head
won't get you anywhere.

Write it out on sticky notes.
Draw a blueprint on paper.
Send questions through inquiry forms.

Just take action.

When you do that,
things that were blurry
gradually become clear.

"This feature is necessary"
"It would be good to have this screen"
"This is the flow for using it"

The shape becomes visible.

Don't just think,
take action.

I realized this is the most important thing.

-----

Looking back on the week

Honestly, there is still a long way to go.

It's only been 7 days out of 260.

The blueprint is still rough.
I haven't decided between no-code or a development company yet.
I haven't finished researching the finances either.

I am full of unknowns.

But, I have a real sense that I am definitely moving forward.

Day by day, little by little,
it is taking shape.

I will continue to
move forward one step at a time.

-----

Goals for next week

Next week, I will refine the blueprint a bit more.

・What to display on each screen
・What information is needed
・What is a user-friendly flow for both customers and hairstylists

Once I can organize that,
I feel like I will be able to decide more clearly
whether to go with no-code or

hire a development company.

And then, actually start moving.

I'll do my best in the second week.
