When I Intended to Shine a Light, Huh? My Heart Felt Unsteady | Morning Intention Practice Diary 17
Hello. I am ARYA.
This is my "Morning Intention Practice Diary."
A record I started to cultivate the feeling of living as a creator.
I focus on "intentions," not "goals."
When I set intentions, I can find small signs even in casual daily conversations.
What could that one word or this event be connected to?
Just by thinking that way, the way I see the world changes a little.
Every day is a bit more interesting than before.
No, actually, it's quite interesting.
This is the 17th installment of the series, Day 28.
Day 28: "Shining a Light"
"Shining a light."
I think it's a highly abstract phrase.
My days are filled with small interactions: acknowledging students' efforts, telling anxious children "It's okay," and reassuring worried parents by saying "Everything will be fine."
None of these are special, yet sometimes people tell me, "I feel relieved" or "My heart feels lighter."
I didn't try to shine a light. I was just doing it naturally.
My heart felt unsteady
However, when I set the intention to "shine a light," my heart felt a little unsteady.
While speaking to students, I started thinking,
"Did my words just now shine a light?"
"Did they reach them properly?"
I started performing self-checks that I wouldn't normally feel.
Words I used to say naturally suddenly felt like they had to be something more special.
I was surprised that my heart could be so shaken.
Nothing special happened.
The unchanging daily routine continued.
But through my repeated intention practice,
I had learned the feeling that even if changes aren't immediately visible, something begins to move beneath the surface.
So, without rushing, I left the intention to "shine a light" as it was.

An unexpected light
Then one day, I performed a small act to express my monthly gratitude.
I didn't have the intention of "shining a light" in my mind.
In response to my action, I received a message that touched my heart more than I could have imagined.
What I gave was only a small thing, yet it seemed to expand many times over within that person.
And then, I realized, oh, this is what it meant to "shine a light."
Even though I hadn't intended it, what I did unconsciously had become a great light within someone else.
Light is not something you "create"
Through this event, I remembered something important.
Light is not something you create.
Light is something that naturally overflows from your way of being.
Small daily interactions, consideration for others, and a natural sense of gratitude.
In that ordinary, non-special version of me, the light is already there.
The reason I wobbled the moment I set an intention was because
I thought I had to "create light."
But light is there to begin with.
The mystery of light
Even if you give the same words or perform the same actions, how they resonate differs completely depending on the receiver.
Those who receive it lightly.
Those who receive it with surprise.
Those who let it sink deep into their hearts.
What might be a small light to one person
can sometimes become a light that illuminates another person's entire life.
Light is truly unique to each individual.
And it reaches the people who need it, at the time they need it, in the form they need it.
I believe that light released naturally heads exactly where it needs to go.

The word "light"
It could also be called "kindness" or "love."
Both are essentially things that gently overflow from within.
But the word "light"
envelops even that kindness and love,
and as your very existence seeps out, it illuminates your surroundings
and spreads.
The desire for a student's growth.
A word of reassurance gently delivered to a parent.
An attitude of watching over someone without rushing them.
The natural feeling of wanting to express gratitude to someone.
In that ordinary, non-special version of me,
the light was already there.
What is light?
It expands precisely because it is undefined,
it reaches out precisely because it has no form,
and it spreads quietly beyond words.
