[Presentation Slides Released] XR Kaigi 2025: The Shortest Path to Learning Roblox Development and AI Efficiency Techniques

First of all, let me say this loudly... It has already been over three weeks since the day of XR Kaigi...!! I am so sorry for keeping you waiting for the slides~!🙇‍♀️💦

To everyone who was thinking, "When will they be up?" or "I want to see the slides!", thank you for putting up with my slow pace😂 (If I may make an excuse, I was a bit soul-less from the relief of it being over... lol)

Finally! I've put some effort into summarizing it on note, so whether you couldn't make it to the venue on the day or just want to review, I'd be happy if you could check it out✨

The theme this time is"The Shortest Path to Learning Roblox Development and AI Efficiency Techniques"! I am handing over my failure stories from being stuck in an "inefficient" swamp for 4 years as a map of the "shortest route" for all of you🗺️✨

1) What is "Roblox" anyway?: It's not just a playground!🎮

To those of you thinking, "Isn't Roblox just a game where kids play with blocks?"! ...Actually, Roblox today has evolved tremendously!🚀

• Serious physics engines & real-time communication are built-in from the start!

• Generative AI tools are standard, allowing for lightning-fast development!

• Since people all over the world play it, making a living as a creator is not just a dream!

It looks pop and "easy♪" on the surface, but that is the biggest pitfall🕳️. If you let your guard down and jump in thinking, "I can do this my own way!", you will end up in a tough spot like I did... (lol).

2) Why I failed & what I want to convey in this session😢

I am a former engineer, but in Roblox development, I really went full "silly child" and kept repeating failures...

To give you an idea of how inefficient I was,

• I skipped the tutorials and did it my own way and charged ahead🏃‍♀️💨

• I didn't know about convenient features, and wasted 2 months just making a save function🫠

• After 4 years, I finally learned about the existence of a "god-tier library" and realized that my past struggles could have been solved in 30 minutes... (crying).

I really want to go back and stop my past self who threw away dozens of hours without even knowing about convenient debugging features!😭

My hidden theme for this is, "Walk over my corpse". To ensure you pros don't take the same detours I did, I've packed in a "technical map" to help you take the most efficient, shortest route!✨

   Templates, AI tools, and useful libraries are meant to be used to the fullest! Also, instead of saying "I'll make it someday," join events with "deadlines" like contests to force yourself to produce output!
   

3. Incorporate "other people's perspectives" to reach a professional level! 🤝
   Don't struggle alone; try asking questions in communities (like Devlox) or challenging yourself with team development. By building with others, your skills will be polished in no time!
