If you keep writing on note, you become optimized for note's style. What remains despite that pressure might be the core of your true self [How to continue note / Poetic essay / Blog / Thoughts / Generative AI images]
As you continue to write on note, your writing style gradually shifts toward note's style.
Consciously or unconsciously.
This is probably unavoidable.
It is not limited to note; people become optimized for the medium they write in.
Perhaps even this very opening has a touch of that 'note-like' quality.
However, no matter how much your writing approaches that note-like style, something remains.
That, surely, must be the core of who you are.
Optimization as a survival strategy
The wind that blows through note carries a unique atmosphere.
It is different from the sharp sense of speed found on X, or the slightly stiff feeling of a blog.
It is somewhat introspective, yet it does not refuse to connect loosely with others.
Even if the narrative style or the themes handled change, that atmosphere remains at the foundation.
I have been placing myself in this space for over a year.
As time passes, I feel as though I am naturally absorbing its rhythm.
I get that kind of feeling.
Keep sentences short and insert line breaks at appropriate positions.
Visual whitespace to improve visibility.
Deliberately open up difficult words into simpler expressions to increase readability.
Add bold formatting to text you want to emphasize.
Mix in your own weaknesses and wavering emotions as just a small essence.
So as not to disturb the reader's breathing.
So that the finger scrolling the screen can tap out a comfortable rhythm.
As you repeat improvements in pursuit of better reactions like 'likes' and comments, it happens.
The continuous feedback loop makes it so.
It is close to a survival strategy.
And so, surely, 'note optimization' progresses.
Beyond the 'mold' that gets worn away
I think my original writing style was plain.
I don't recall it being particularly filled with emotion.
For a long time, I found it easier to write in an explanatory and objective way.
That changed as I read note, wrote on it, and received reactions.
The reason stones on a beach or riverbed are all round is simply because they are washed by the waves.
The wave of algorithms flowing through the platform also wears down the sharp edges of writing.Under the pressure of optimization, writing takes on a rounded shape.
Stones rounded in this way spread across the riverbed of note, forming the 'note-like' quality.
They create kindness, calmness, or sentimentality.
In the midst of a swarm of such identical shapes, I feel as though even my own individuality is dissolving.
However, only after the exterior is worn away do the internal elements become visible.
It reveals a high-purity essence.
No matter how much I pretend to have a calm, note-like writing style, I cannot hide my 'obsessions'.
Things I end up touching upon regardless of the theme.
Words that act as a charm for me, repeated unconsciously.
Or, sensibilities and emotions I prioritize even at the expense of logic.
For me, that might be structure, empathy, and transparency.
Because even when dealing with emotions, I want to break down 'why I felt that way'.
Even under the strong 'pressure of optimization' that is note, these things do not collapse.
Rather, they stand out precisely because the surroundings have been smoothed out.
Worn down, worn down, worn down, and yet they remain.
As an uneven, foreign presence, or a color, or a texture.
'Individuality' is the lingering scent that resisted until the end
It is closer to a 'bias in perspective' than a 'habit of words'.You cannot lie about how you frame the world.
Whether you shine a light on the vitality of weeds by the roadside, or scoop up the loneliness hidden behind someone's casual remark.
In every moment of that choice, the 'outline of me,' washed by the waves of optimization, emerges.
Surely, acquiring a 'mold' is not about erasing individuality.
It is closer to a translation for delivering individuality to the reader.
If it is self-indulgent and lacks explanation, it reaches no one.
My words from the past, which I believed would be understood by those who understood, flowed away as noise and vanished into the sea of the internet.
That is precisely why we try to reach out while wearing the common language of note.
Even if it is a foreign object to the community, we smooth out its edges and wrap it in the kindness of the community.
And so, today again, I place one article on the riverbank of note.
Hoping that, surely, someone will pick it up.
Until next time.
