[Feature Introduction 3] A story about enhancing the SOS function of TAXI-Cloud BI [Taxi Business Support]
Hello.
I am a staff member at Ageo Meter Shokai, a company that installs Yazaki taxi meters, digital tachographs, and similar equipment.
This time, I will introduce a somewhat unusual customization related to the SOS signal of "TAXI-Cloud BI".
Did you know that taxis have a feature to notify the outside world in case of an emergency?
Taxis are equipped with a
function to send an SOS to the outside when an emergency occurs inside the vehicle.
For example:
Making the roof light flash red (or stay lit, depending on the region)
Using a radio to send an SOS signal to the office
These are some of the mechanisms available.
And, Yazaki's taxi meter "LT27" also has a similar SOS transmission function, and
it is possible to send an SOS signal to TAXI Cloud-BI via an external switch.
"How many companies are actually using this feature?"
After all, the radio is the main tool, so there is no need to receive an SOS signal. While it's good to have features, I sometimes wonder if even the dealers are not very aware of it.
So, it might be realistic to think of this as:
So, this is
a secondary function
a supplementary function for companies that do not use radios
as a way to consider it.
If it just "displays text" when received, it feels a bit unreliable...
When an SOS signal is received by TAXI-Cloud BI,
"SOS Received" is displayed in red text on the PC screen.
However...
No sound plays
You won't notice it unless you are looking at the monitor
There is a possibility of missing it if you are not constantly looking at TAXI-Cloud BI
Therefore, it is currently a bit unreliable for immediate response in emergencies as things stand.

So, I created a "mechanism that can notify you more clearly"!
Based on the dedicated browser with display restrictions that I introduced last time, I developed a
customized version specialized for SOS notifications.
1. "High-volume alert" with buzzer & voice
When an SOS signal is received, it issues a notification via buzzer and voice.
If you set the volume high, it will be
at a level where you can notice it even if you are in another room in the office.
2. SOS notification from outside the screen even when minimized
With standard applications, you might not notice notifications if they are minimized.
With this custom browser, I made it so that an immediate notification is sent upon receiving an SOS even in a minimized state.
You can rest assured even if you are doing other work on your PC.

When minimized, it is positioned to always stay on top in the bottom right corner of the screen.
3. Automatic notification to a configured email address
Furthermore, we have added a feature to automatically send notifications to a pre-configured email address as well.
Administrators can receive them on their smartphones even while away
allowing them to grasp the situation and respond immediately in an emergency
—these are some of the ways it can be used.
*Currently supports setting one recipient.

Vehicle number and time can be checked on the 'Dynamic Management Screen'
While the dashboard screen only shows that an 'SOS has been received,'
if you have the dynamic management screen open, you can also identify which vehicle sent the SOS and at what time.
What do you think of this 'attention to detail' SOS notification enhancement customization?
The SOS notification, which previously only displayed text on a PC screen, can now be handled through multiple means:
sound, visual, and email.
I believe we have established a system that ensures you will notice even in the 'worst-case' scenario.
A final word
This time, as 'Unique Things We Can Do at Ageo Meter Shokai Part 3,' I introduced
the customization to enhance SOS signal notifications in TAXI-Cloud BI.
Please note that there is a time lag of about 1 minute from the transmission to the reception of the SOS signal.
Please understand that this may vary depending on the communication environment and system status.
If you have any requests like 'Can you do this?'
or 'It would be convenient if you had this,' please let us know!
