[Reflection] Celebrating the Launch of WAY! Grateful for a Whirlwind Entrepreneurial Week and New Encounters [Weekly yasu Issue 4/5]
Hello, this is yasu.
Thank you all for your hard work during this first week of the new fiscal year.
This week has been an unforgettable one for me, marking a major milestone in my life: the full-scale launch of my freelance career (WAY).
Highlights of the Week
A Whirlwind of Entrepreneurial Preparation and the Completion of an 'Ironclad Back Office'
The first half of the week was a mad dash of final preparations for my April 1st launch.
It started with electronic applications using my My Number card linked to my smartphone (a first in my life!), followed by preparing documents for the tax office, and on Wednesday, the launch day, I spent the entire day building a system for contracts and invoices (an ironclad back office) to ensure safe future transactions.
On Thursday, I engaged in a battle of back-and-forth adjustments with AI (Gemini's image generator) to create a new header image that would serve as the face of 'WAY' (lol).
Everything about starting a business—the terminology, the tasks—was new to me, and my brain was on the verge of exploding, but the realization that I was 'taking on new challenges' made these days incredibly fun and exciting.
Feeling the Breath of Spring in the 'White Space' I Intentionally Created
Even amidst those hectic days, since I advocate for 'organizing adult time,' I felt I needed to value my own 'white space,' so I stopped working for a bit and went out to see the cherry blossoms.
I took a walk under the full-bloom cherry blossoms while eating a modest 'chirashi-zushi' bento I bought at a convenience store.
Ducks were swimming leisurely in the river, and from a nearby high school, I could hear the voices of what sounded like new baseball team members practicing their greetings and marching.
I was able to feel the change of seasons with all five senses, thinking, 'Ah, it's spring,' and my heart felt instantly lighter.
Indeed, it is truly important to consciously create 'white space.'
WAY's First Case! A Moving Start
On Friday evening, after returning from that spring walk.
To my surprise, a reader who saw my featured note article reached out via the form I had just created, and the first case for 'Consultation on Parenting and Education' came in!
I hurriedly prepared for the evening and conducted the consultation over the phone.
I made full use of my many years of experience as a teacher, simply listening intently and sharing the honest perspective of the school side, and I was able to receive words of gratitude from the client.
I am grateful for this connection.
The experience I have cultivated over many years can lighten someone's heart and provide relief in this way.
It was the best start I could have asked for, and I felt from the bottom of my heart that I was truly glad I launched 'WAY'.
