I was told this was where the Broccoli Growers Convention was being held. Am I in the right place? Viriditas (talk) 10:47, 4 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

You're a very strange person, Viriditas. (And I know you just came here to despoil my newly archived talk page.) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 17:00, 4 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
Despoil? It ain't like I built a data center here!! Viriditas (talk) 18:24, 4 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
Sure, you didn't Borg my talk page, but you broccolied it. If you do it again, I will turnip at your page and do the same. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 19:03, 4 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

...but how was the durian? Viriditas (talk) 09:42, 3 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
Yuk! Don't make me puke. Sounds like you've been Bangkok? You seem very familiar with the goings-on. Skinny: still a few pinball machines, still so friendly, lovely trannies (in everyday jobs, not the ladyboys), subway busier, corpse museum has sushi kiosk in lobby (no kidding), way more Russians and Ukrainians, great pastries, Green Lung awesome natural garbage dump, huge lizards here and there. What's not to like? :) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 10:21, 3 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

Welcome back

[edit]

I see you got the heckity out of Dodge just as 5,000 extremely horny sailors rolled into town after being trapped at sea for 250 days. Your timing is either impeccable or deeply suspicious. Viriditas (talk) 09:21, 3 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

We didn't go down to Pattaya, where the sailors are now. I'm happy they are there as Pattaya needs the money very, very badly. Hotels will be packed, as well as the Dodge jail, and soon after, clinics.
You know, that corpse museum Siriraj Medical Museum has a photo of a Chinese serial killer while there are signs all over the museum saying strictly no photos. Illegal photo? Thoughts?
Also, do you think the Kiakkai Bridge is notable enough for an article? It crosses the Chao Phraya River and is mentioned in Kiakkai as a megaproject (known in China as a micro weekend project). news I took photos of it under construction from a boat. You know how I like bridge articles. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 09:50, 3 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
Glad you are back safe and sound. I had to look up the rationale: "Why is it forbidden to take photos in the Museum of Medicine? In order to protect the human rights of each principal who donated his body and organs." Not sure how that is enforced. As for the bridge, I would think any megaproject would qualify for an article, let alone a major bridge. Currently watching the new Lanterns show. Not really a fan of the superhero genre, but when they go for slow pacing, I'm in. Viriditas (talk) 10:08, 3 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
I'll try Lanterns. I'm not much on the modern stuff, though.
Photo: Well, considering they cremated the corpse, his human rights are in question and I won't bother to dig into that. So maybe drop it.
Okay, I'll make the bridge article! I look forward to doing that. Thanks! Enjoy Lantern but exercise your noodle with the game of go. Not that you need it, as you're obviously and luckily very smart. :) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 10:31, 3 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
Lanterns is okay, so far. It has a lot of potential. The third episode (OutKast) was the best one yet, but I think I was really spoiled by The Penguin, which was the kind of thing I was expecting but didn't get. I really like Jasmine Cephas Jones and hope we get more screen time. She nails every scene. Viriditas (talk) 23:06, 3 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
If you like it, it's probably good. I'll watch a preview. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 02:08, 4 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
Although superhero/villain stuff isn't particularly to my tastes, I also like Lanterns reasonably well. I liked The Penguin a lot, too, and I think Peacemaker (TV series) was quite funny in a dumb way. --Tryptofish (talk) 18:23, 4 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
Well, Penguin looks best of those, but I'm awfully fed up with tough guys with guns in everything. Arriving aliens would think we're nuts with gunned men on every movie poster. Next in my (re-)watch queue is A Boy and His Dog and Eyes of Laura Mars. Don't laugh! :) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 18:48, 4 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
I made it through the first 20 minutes of A Boy and His Dog and fell asleep. It is very much "tough guys with guns in everything". I'm not fan of true crime or serial killer-related stuff, but if you haven't seen it, Mindhunter is very compelling. Viriditas (talk) 22:40, 4 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
Fell asleep? Clearly it was the delicious, delicious Benylin, not the movie. And those pics aren't about men with guns really, but everything has some men with guns, even Cheers (Clavin was packing). Anna Frodesiak (talk) 00:12, 5 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
I get it, we are the same age, stop reminding me how old I am. Viriditas (talk) 00:21, 5 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
Constant reminders are unavoidable at our age. :) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 02:44, 5 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
One of the things about early Cheers seasons that was special for me was the emphasis on the studio audience reactions. Because they either didn't use canned laugh tracks in the early episodes or did so only to buttress existing laughs, there was a noticeable element of silence that was almost theatrical, making you think you were watching a play, not a television series. At some point that disappeared, of course, and when Friends arrived just a year after the end of Cheers, the use of canned laughter had become standard and the Cheers aesthetic had all but disappeared. That use of silence was one of the things that drew me to the early seasons, and when Coach died, everyone was sad for a while. Viriditas (talk) 02:57, 5 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
I honestly never noticed the canned laughter. But I agree, the live audience, like on Barney Miller, is so much better. The good ol' days.

I guess we should wrap this up. It's not much about editing, and some young whippersnapper may come and revert all of this. I've started Kiakkai Bridge and now find info all fuzzy. I suppose the stub will find it's way, and I will add what I can. Final thoughts on getting old: Gore Vidal once said something like "I'm at the age where life stops giving one things and starts taking things away." At least Wikipedia can keep my noodle from totally melting. That's one of the reasons I returned. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 16:38, 5 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

UK sock

[edit]

Hi Anna. I loves Meghan Trainor has been blocked indefinitely is about ten years ago. But now, I just awared at Bbb23's talk page archive she striked other IP's comment and saying "I have striked the IPs comment as for the pure and simple fact they are MariaJaydHicky's socks trying to pull the wool over peoples eyes". So I posted that I want she'd explain and why on her user talk page in 2019. Despite as an archive of past discussions can't edit, would like to ask Bbb23 instead. ~2026-49687-49 (talk) 03:56, 14 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Please help me understand what you need and how this involves me. Thanks. :) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 17:29, 14 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
(talk page stalker) No idea what this is intended to achieve—or why this is coming up now, although I see there continue to be reports made at the related SPI. Anyway, once upon a time at MariaJaydHicky2 you made one of your characteristic kindly & patient efforts (aside from some gentle sarcasm) to connect with the purported sockmaster, who claimed to have been joe-jobbed. No good deed goes unpunished, as they say.—Odysseus1479 22:43, 14 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
