What you need
To use this feature, you must:
- Be a Google AI Ultra subscriber or have a Google AI Ultra for Business license. Learn how to upgrade with a personal account or a work or school account.
- Be 18 or older.
- Sign in to Gemini Apps. Learn how to sign in to Gemini Apps.
Important: Deep Think is an experimental capability, allowing you to try out Gemini’s newest advanced reasoning. We may discontinue or suspend Deep Think at any time without prior notice. Share feedback to help us improve Deep Think.
Use Deep Think
- On your mobile device, open gemini.google.com or the Gemini mobile app

- On the top left, tap the model name and select Pro.
- Tap the model name again and select Thinking Level
Deep Think.
- In the text box at the bottom, enter a prompt.
- Tap Submit

Deep Think.Tip: It may take a few minutes to generate your response. While you wait, you can leave the chat and start a new chat.
Notification when your Deep Think response is ready
When the Deep Think response is ready, Gemini will notify you:
- In the web app: Next to the chat thread with your completed response.
- In the mobile app: As a notification on your device. The notification may appear when your device is locked depending on your settings.
You can turn notifications for Gemini Apps on or off in your device’s app notification settings.
- On your iPhone or iPad, open the Settings app.
- Tap Notifications
- Scroll down and tap the Gemini app.
- Allow notifications to be on or off.
Usage limits
When you reach a Gemini usage limit, Deep Think will be temporarily unavailable. Wait until your limit refreshes to use Deep Think again.
