It's working fine for me. Sometimes updates take a while to spread over the world, maybe your Steam datacenter didn't have the latest yet. Is it still broken today?

Yeah it is, I guess I can play offline but I can't get the online bonuses. I'll try reinstalling the game today but not sure if it'll change anything since it says all files are already verified

What do you mean by online bonuses?

If your local steam server isn't on the latest version of the game, you can force download the specific version you want.

It could also be some sort of network thing, blocking access to their servers.
