I tried that and it had a very difficult time adhering to the rules and then the first 30 names I tried that worked were taken. Also in-game the companies don't follow this rule. Black Pearl is two words and has a space so why can't player company names be two words?

There are but it is just annoying for a system. If there was an in-game generator or if they let people use spaces like the in universe troubleshooter companies do it would be way easier to create unique names. They could also just not have the troubleshooter company name have to be unique and have some code given to each account instead. I don't think I have ever used the social features at all.

If you're not using the social features, you can just play offline. You still won't be able to use spaces but won't need to be unique (except with respect to other saves on the same system).

you can use special characters like ² (squared) or something similarly unobtrusive if that helps

Haven't tried it, but if you play offline, you might be able to edit the db to add spaces in your company's name.

You guys keep coming up with solutions and problem solving that I didn't ask for. I was just complaining as it is annoying af game design. Never played any other game in my hundreds of games played with this issue that isn't an MMO but even MMOs have name generators built in to give you a name. Some even have generators giving you a lore accurate random name. This game doesn't have any kind of generator and has extremely restrictive rules. I picked a name before I even made this post but it took forever and many many tries.
