People don't change because they 'want to,' they change because they have a 'reason to.'
Today, I attended a friend's wedding.
It was my first time seeing the groom in over ten years.
Despite that, he invited me to sit at the best table, and I felt truly happy and filled with gratitude.
During the reception, there was a brief introduction of the bride and groom, and I was surprised by something mentioned.
Apparently, both of them had been working on their fitness specifically for this day.
The bride lost 7kg, and the groom lost an incredible 12kg.
When I saw them in person, the groom looked fantastic in his tuxedo, and the bride looked truly beautiful and wonderful.
Seeing them like that made me realize something once again.
That is,
People can truly change when they have a powerful goal.
is what I mean.
Up until now, I have been saying things like,
"Let's improve our diet," "Let's keep up with exercise," and "Let's prioritize our sleep."
I have shared many things like that.
Of course, those things are very important.
However,
"I should lose some weight," "I need to exercise," or "I want to slim down a bit by summer."
With only vague goals like these, it is hard to sustain action.
On the other hand,
"I want to look my best at my wedding," "I want to wear this outfit well," or "I want to meet people with confidence on this day."
When people have such a clear goal, they can work surprisingly hard.
That is why it is important to
set not only long-term goals but also clear short-term goals.
When goals become concrete, the things you need to do also become visible.
And by planning, motivation naturally arises.
If there is anyone who thinks,
'I don't know where to start' or 'I don't know how to set goals,'
please feel free to consult with me.
While listening to your feelings and ideals, we will organize your goals together and think of a plan.
After all, sometimes it is easier to move forward with someone else than to try your best alone.
Setting that aside,
today was a day where I felt truly healed in such a happy space.
I attended wearing a kimono, and strangely enough, wearing one naturally improves your posture.
Your back straightens, your movements become more refined, and even your spirit feels dignified.
Once again, I felt the wonder of Japanese traditional culture.
While being grateful to have witnessed the start of a wonderful couple's new journey,
I, too, will continue to do my best toward my own goals.
Let's keep doing our best together 🌸
