[Music] Introduction to the original song 'Departure'

This is an introduction to 'Departure,' the first track on the original album released on April 3rd.

'Departure' means setting off, but while 'Freedom' depicts a journey of adventure, in this track, I tried to express the melancholy and sorrow of leaving.

'Departure' is a song I wrote just last year.

I have been studying music theory since last year, and while I was creating sample melodies using scales often used in jazz, it developed and finished as a complete song.

Although I have written songs in the past, I used to write them without really understanding the theory.

Since I started learning theory again last year, I've had many eye-opening experiences and learned a great deal over the past year.

Regardless of the technical details, I am very happy to have been able to include a song in this album that I wouldn't have been able to write before, and to share it with all of you.

I am very grateful that even at my age, I have been able to expand the range of songs I can write.

While writing this song, my vision for why I compose music became clear, making it a turning point in my mindset regarding my composition work.

The song has a clear structure, but please enjoy the development from the piano and bass unison to the piano solo and drum solo, performed with a wonderful, live feel by jazz musicians active both in Japan and abroad.
