[Repost] To you who love spring, even though spring is painful
—It is okay to hold both the anxiety of new human relationships and the excitement of the season
Spring is painful.
But I love spring.
There are surely many people who carry this contradiction.
The season moves forward while your feelings cannot keep up. Laughter, new uniforms, even the scent of the air—everything has the face of a "beginning."
If you have bipolar disorder or anxiety disorder, spring is a time when you are easily shaken.
The environment changes. People come and go. The atmosphere changes.
Even though your heart might still be in winter.
Even so, spring makes your heart race.
Thinking that another season has passed after surviving the cold winter makes you feel like you might "meet a new version of yourself."
Cherry blossoms, flower viewing, the Doll's Festival. All of them are important, and I don't want to neglect them.

So today, this is not an article about "enduring" spring.
To keep loving spring without breaking down.
I will talk about setting spring human relationships into a slightly safer form.
Feeling distressed in spring does not mean you are weak
Spring is a season where many new things begin.
Even if you are in the same workplace, students might join, or new employees might arrive.
Every time "new people" increase, a confirmation process begins in your head.
"Will I get along with these people?"
"Will they think I'm weird?"
"What if I get the distance wrong?"
The fear of anxiety disorder lies not in the events themselves, but in the fact thatthe imagination of "what might happen"expands.
If you have bipolar disorder, there are days when your tension and concentration fluctuate due to waves.
Entering into new human relationships while carrying those fluctuations is—
honestly,a high level of difficulty.
Feeling distressed in spring is not a sign of weakness.

It is because the season of spring is, by nature, designed to increase "change."
Even so, it is okay to cherish the fact that you "love spring"
It is very natural that you love spring.
Surviving the winter.
The season turning.
The feeling that you might meet a new version of yourself.
That is, perhaps, hope.
The important thing is this:
Protecting the version of yourself that loves spring, without being crushed by spring.
To enjoy spring, you need to change your spring human relationships into a "design that doesn't require too much effort."
Concrete example: The moment the other person's reaction looks cold, everything becomes scary
The most painful thing in spring human relationships is when the other person's reaction looks cold for a moment.
You greeted them, but the reply was short.
They didn't make eye contact.
They looked busy, and their expression was stiff.
Even though it's just that, your head immediately goes like this:
"Maybe they hate me."
"Did I do something?"
"Did I get the distance wrong?"
"Is this atmosphere my fault?"
And you reach a conclusion on your own, and fall into a slump on your own.
Anxiety creates "the worst"before reality does.
But to be calm, that person might just be busy.
They might just not have any spare capacity.
It might not mean they hate you.
The problem is not "the other person's reaction," butthat your own interpretation runs wild.
In spring human relationships, prioritize "making it safe" over "getting along"
The more you get tired in new human relationships, the more you try to be liked from the start.
Being too polite. Being too considerate. Reading the room too much.
But that is, rather than kindness—
likely to become fear.
The correct answer for spring is this:
Before getting along, create a distance where you won't break.

1. For a first meeting, just being "pleasant" is 100 points
There is no need to become close.
There is no need to be liked.
・Greet them
・Look them in the eye and reply with a word
・Do not engage in unnecessary self-disclosure
This is enough.
In spring, "thin and polite" is the strongest.
2. You don't have to decide "if you click" right now
When anxiety is strong, you want to reach a conclusion at the beginning.
"Compatible / Incompatible"
"Safe / Dangerous"
But you can't tell with human relationships until you meet a few times.
People who have waves are easily shaken if they judge in one day.
So make this your rule:
For new human relationships in spring, reserve your judgment.
Just allowing yourself to say "I don't know yet" will make your heart a little lighter.
3. If a reaction looks cold, stop your interpretation once
When someone seems cold, don't immediately blame yourself.
This is all you can do in that moment.
・"Maybe they are busy."
・"Maybe they don't have the capacity right now."
・"I won't make a judgment now."
Put off the judgment until tomorrow.
Just doing that makes it easier to stop anxiety from running wild.
How to use "small events" to enjoy spring

If you love spring, it's okay to properly enjoy it.
However, keep the way you enjoy it at a size that won't break you.
・For Hinamatsuri, just buying a sakura mochi is enough to feel spring.
・For cherry blossom viewing, even "10 minutes at the local park" is spring, rather than going far.
・Choose just one spring ingredient (strawberries / new onions / canola blossoms).
If you make spring events too much of a "schedule," you'll get tired.
But if you incorporate them in a small way as a "sense of the season," it becomes restorative.
Conclusion: You who love spring will feel more at ease if you know how to protect yourself.
Spring is hard, yet you love spring.
That feeling is not wrong.
You don't want to neglect spring.
That is proof that you are trying to live properly.
So, enjoy spring.
In exchange, keep your relationships light and polite.
On days when reactions seem cold, stop interpreting and put it off until tomorrow.
Don't decide right now whether your wavelengths match.
While still loving spring, it's okay to draw a line so you don't break.
Spring is not your enemy.
