~Study Methods for Passing the Industrial Counselor Exam on the First Try~ Vol. 10 / Practical Exam Preparation!
*The information I provide here is from when I was taking the course.
Since there may be changes now, please be sure to check the Japan Industrial Counselors Association website for both course and exam information.
When I was taking the course, there was a system called 'practical exam exemption,' where if you earned this, you were considered to have passed the practical portion without having to take the actual practical exam.
I have discussed the reasons for the practical exam exemption in a previous post, so
if you are interested, please take a look.
I believe that the reason for the practical exam exemption is linked to the attitude required as an industrial counselor.
And I also think that this is a point that is observed during the actual practical exam.
Studying for the Industrial Counselor and Career Consultant exams -> taking the exams -> passing.
Using my experience in practical counseling, I now provide consultation services and support for examinees.
If you would like, I offer consultation and client role-play services on Coconala, so please feel free to use them for your practical exam preparation.
Practicing for the practical exam made me nervous, and I hated it because I was so bad at it...
I was at the level where I felt I didn't have any parts of the oral examination that I did well on...
But, in the end, doing it many times to get used to it.
I think this also leads to building confidence.
Actually, on the day of my Career Consultant practical exam, I failed during the oral examination.
I started talking about my strategy, and suddenly my mind went blank.
For a moment, I thought,it's all over...
I even thought, 'I studied so hard, do I have to take the exam again next time?'
But the moment that thought crossed my mind, I felt like I heard a senior's voice.
'Don't give up until the very end!'
These were the final words of advice from the senior who helped me with my Career Consultant role-play practice before the exam.
I was jolted awake.
From there, thanks to having practiced over and over again, my mouth moved on its own, and
before I knew it, the exam was over.
I managed to pass by the skin of my teeth.
From this experience, I truly felt that to master something, practice is the only way, and that it is important not to give up.
It is okay if you cannot do things as you wish at first.
Let's clear the challenges one by one and level up before the exam.
Thank you for watching until the end today as well.
I hope this will be of some help to everyone who will be taking the exam.
