Shouting my love for my mentor, Yohei.
It has been a month and a half since I dove into the world of note.
I hardly get any 'likes,' and my work is barely seen by anyone.
No matter how hard I try to write, nothing changes.
It was on 3/31 that I finally noticed the existence of Tsubasa Ito and entered a new stage by writing a self-introduction that served as a sort of site map.
Looking back at that article now, I find it endearing. The numbers might be trivial, but for me at the time, it was truly the moment zero became one. I remember spending my nights with my heart racing every time I got a notification of a 'like' on my phone. Of course, it is an undeniable fact that I woke my wife up the next morning and shouted, 'It's a big deal!'
And then, on 4/1, I took further action. I joined two collaborative magazines. At first, I thought about joining the magazines of Hina-hime or Toraneko, whom even I knew about at the time.
However.
I didn't know how to join. Is it that my extreme lack of direction makes me unable to even find the entrance to a site?
Not that I had no other choice, but what caught my eye was the magazine of a person named 'Yohei,' who had a cute face and wore his hat backward.
I was at the level of wondering, 'What even is a collaborative magazine? Is it edible?' but once I joined, the number of people definitely seeing my articles increased.
It is no exaggeration to say that my life on note began here.
The article where I was introduced as a new member. Back then, I was still a nobody to Yohei-san.
Yohei-san, who was already the captain leading nearly 200 members of the 'Ganbaru-tai' (Hardworking Squad), was the very picture of a 'successful person' who energetically introduced members' articles every day.
4/9. I joined the membership.
Along with many introductions every day, he was putting out useful information for note, and I felt compelled to read it.
Icons really might be important after all. Having felt a great sense of familiarity with Yohei-san's face, which looks like a kind older brother in the neighborhood, I knocked on the door of the Yohei membership without hesitation.
It hasn't even been three months since then, but I truly believe that the person known as 'Yohei' is one of a kind.
First, there is a long period of paying one's dues.
I read Yohei-san's posts in order, starting from when he first began his note.
It is true that for the first four months or so, he was not being read nearly as much as one would imagine from the Captain Yohei of today.
It wasn't that the content was bad. On the contrary, it was actually well-written.
Reading the articles posted daily from the very beginning, you can feel it.
Yohei-san is a hard worker. And he is extremely serious.
He analyzes the reasons why he isn't being read and repeats various trials and errors. The way he struggles is palpable. It doesn't easily lead to results. Even so, he does not waver.
Yohei-san is a strong person.
"Please, at least read the bold text."
A phrase that appeared frequently for a time. It was an effort to convey the essence without taking up too much of the reader's time.
He also structures his writing with care, trying to be as considerate of the reader's feelings as possible.
But as I read, I realized something. It is unclear who this writing is for.
While it seems like he is sending out useful information to an unspecified number of people, his gaze is directed downward. Even Gendo Ikari looks forward a bit more than that.
Ah, so that's why he wasn't getting any likes or comments. What a waste, I thought, as I continued to read through his articles.
Then, finally, a turning point arrived.
October 2023.
The month Yohei-san formed the 'Ganbaru-tai' (Effort Squad).
From around this time, the writing began to become more polished. Tables of contents were added. The appearance of the articles became organized. The original writing also stood out more.
An important point: the first-person pronoun 'Yohei' began to appear more frequently.
The changes might still be small, but I definitely felt the atmosphere change from here.
The downward gaze shifted to look forward. This is where it starts.
This is just a guess, but I think the three initial members of the Ganbaru-tai were incredibly significant to Yohei-san. These three people read his work. Delivering to these three first. I suspect that such a change appeared in the articles and led to an increase in readers.
This might be a common story in the world of note.
However, because I read Yohei-san's articles one by one from the beginning, I couldn't help but feel moved.
I see, this is where Yohei-san began his rise. I found it.
This is just my own imagination, so the reality might be completely different, but I think Yohei-san is quite a clumsy type.
I suspect he spends more time than anyone else on his posts. I also feel that he gathers his thoughts before writing comments.
A heart that wants to act innocently, and the mask of 'Yohei' that wraps around it.
I'm sorry if I'm wrong. But that balance is what shapes the current Yohei-san, and I can't wait to see how he evolves from here.
Honestly, I love Yohei-san and respect him more than anyone else.
That's why I could have just written an article full of nothing but praise this time as well.
But I didn't do that.
As someone who has chased after Yohei-san this much, I thought, why not try to interpret Yohei-san in my own way, even if it might be wrong? That is what I thought.
All I can say now is that when I go to Fukuoka, I definitely want to drink with Yohei-san.
That is all.
