"Aiming to be a Digital Interpreter" - Well-being's Motto
It is a common occurrence when working in digital-related fields that I often see situations where there is a difference in understanding between experts/specialized vendors and clients, or where communication is not going well.
I experience this often myself.
Let me give you an example.
Suppose there is a beginner or novice who does not yet have much knowledge of PCs or the internet.
(Since knowledge of PCs and the internet covers a very wide range, please read this here as roughly meaning 'digital knowledge'.)
"Alright, I'm going to start studying computers from now on!"
"I'll be able to make my own websites and e-commerce sites, and start earning money!"

"I'll learn programming and make a living as a programmer!"
They start off with dreams and enthusiasm for the future, right?
And then they start studying using schools, YouTube videos, textbooks, and so on.
Then, they may face problems like these.
"I don't even understand the meaning of the words (terms) in the first place..."
"I don't really understand what the teacher is saying..."
Yes, it is often the case that people feel the hurdle is high at the starting stage.
At first, they try their best to keep up so they don't fall behind, but gradually,
"I want to learn, but maybe it's impossible for me after all..."
and it is not rare for people to end up giving up.
Let me give you another example.
It's a video of a WordPress course for beginners/novices that I saw a long time ago, but...
※WordPress: A system where you become the administrator and can create websites and e-commerce sites.
~Explanation within the video~
"Select a theme, and we will customize various things based on this."
"There are also many plugins, so please install the ones you like. The plugins you can use will change depending on the theme."
"Edit this part here with the editor, and when you reload... the screen will look like this."
"WordPress is made with PHP, so professional web creators usually use PHP to deliver to clients. I recommend using PHP once you get used to it."
People with a certain level of basic knowledge will understand this explanation.
(Furthermore, it would have been easier to understand if the explanation of the terms had also been done within the video.)
...but,
what about beginners and novices?
I think this is probably what happens.
The above is an example of WordPress, but especially programming and the like are really hard to understand, so you need to be prepared to study them.
Actually, I also attended a programming school and managed to graduate, but...
Every day I was like the illustration above.
It's not that the people teaching (experts/specialized vendors) are bad.
(Although I think there is a 'way of teaching'.)
Also, it's not that the people learning are bad.
(Although a certain amount of effort is necessary.)
The fact that there is a considerable difference in each other's knowledge and experience is what causes this phenomenon. Suppose you ask a small child
"What do you think about the current economic situation in Japan?"
and even if you ask,
"Huh? What's that?"
they will likely say.
This is becausethere is a difference in each other's knowledge and experience.
Then, how about asking it like this?
Adult: "Hey, this cabbage was 200 yen the other day, right? But look, see! Today it's 400 yen!"
Child: "So expensive!!"
I think the child will also feel, to some extent, that the price of the cabbage is high.
What I am aiming for is here.
How can I make it properly understood by the client?
How should I break down difficult-to-understand words?
It would be easier to understand if I made materials for this part.
Every day is full of trial and error.😅
I don't think there is such a profession as a digital interpreter, but...
I am aiming for this profession.
