[Northern Alps Scenic Views] Gendarme, Daikiret, and Mt. Yari | A Sky-High Traverse Connecting Rocky Ridges

The ridgeline at the heart of the Northern Alps, connecting Mt. Yari and the Hotaka mountain range.

To Gendarme, Daikiret, and then Mt. Yari.
I am documenting the scenery I encountered during this two-day traverse, connecting a world of nothing but rock and sky, along with photographs.

Date: July 18-19, 2025
Weather: Sunny with occasional mist
Route: Shinhotaka → Shiradezawa → Hotakadake Sanso → Gendarme → Mt. Kitahotaka → Daikiret → Mt. Yari → Hidazawa → Shinhotaka

From Mt. Minamidake to Mt. Yari
The closer I get, the more its presence grows.

Finally, I reached that sharp peak.

Looking down from Mt. Yari,
all the ridges I have walked become a single line.

What left an impression on me during this traverse was
the "scenery that keeps connecting."

Not just a single peak,
but the feeling of walking the ridge itself.

Gendarme, Daikiret, and Mt. Yari.
Everything connects as a single line.

The time I spent within that line.

It was a ridge I would want to walk again.
