I was once mockedand loved as “Hiroki Ao of the World”, but now I live quietly and keep a low profile, living my life as it is.

The “#WhatAreYouTalkingAbout” E-book Publication Commemorative Party held on July 13th.

There, I was involved in a surprise gift from Maiton-san and Snow Honda-san for Kinoko Konishi-san!

For those who attended, do you remember it?

I was commissioned by Maiton-san to make this book cover.

This book cover, you see, is made of leather.
It also uses a material you don't see very often called pig split leather.

It has a unique texture, and I think if you didn't know anything about it, you'd wonder what it was made of.

I use several book covers made of this material myself, and I love the feel of them while reading, so I find myself rubbing them (lol).
Of course, you can also enjoy the aging process.

Maiton-san found me after I had been making and posting, or selling, such book covers.

As expected of Maiton-san, you have a sharp eye!

That's how I was commissioned.

By the way, the production method is completely analog.
I print it out on paper, cut out the letters, and use it as a stencil.
Can you picture it?

Try to imagine cutting them out yourself.
How can you cut them out easily?

That's right.
Larger, bolder letters with more straight lineswouldn't that be easier?

So, this is what I proposed.

A Mincho font that leaves no room for deception!
And it's quite small, too!

W-we'll do it...!

If I were selling these normally, I think it would be fine to make something easier to produce.
That would likely lead to fewer mistakes and higher precision.

But,you want to fulfill the request as closely as possible to the client's wishes,right?
Otherwise, there's no point.

I did my best.
Yeah. Ao-san did her best.

How about that!!!!

I'll say it again.

It's a stencil.
Behold! This precision!

Just kidding.

If I had a printer that could print on leather, I definitely wouldn't do this (lol).
I don't think there are many people out there doing something this troublesome.

By the way, I didn't even use a sewing machine; it's all hand-stitched.
It's super analog.
I'm an analog native.
