A swarm of omission slimes and typo slimes.
Don't... don't look at me with those teary eyes!
A notebook I had written in desperately, believing it was interesting. However, as soon as the townspeople started reading it, one after another, they would immediately close it.
I understand the reason now. Just look at the massive number of monsters that have emerged from this notebook.
A text where typos and omissions continue no matter how much you read...
The reader's mind hits a thinking brake over and over; they can't get immersed in the world of the text because they're distracted, and unnecessary stress keeps piling up.
No wonder they stop reading halfway through...
Now, what to do?
There is no retreat in front of me anymore.
There is one behind me. Should I run?
Beneath the squishy bottoms (or are they feet?) of the crowded slimes, the notebook I dropped is peeking out.
That notebook is my "bread and butter," necessary for getting the townspeople to read the text I've written. I absolutely must pick it up, or I won't be able to survive the journey ahead.
As I was deep in thought, to my surprise, a "choice" appeared before me.
Use item "Dictionary"
→Use
Discard
Eat
No way! I'm not discarding it, and I'm not eating it!! (Who would eat it anyway!)
Feeling annoyed as if I were being mocked, I still chose
→Use
. *Ding*
I felt strength surging into both my arms.
I see! This thick, heavy "dictionary" is a weapon... that explains why it appeared so suddenly.
First, aiming at the blue "typo slime" looking up at me with teary eyes, I swung the heavy dictionary I held in both hands with a full swing.
Splat!☆
The cute, goofy face of the slime distorted for a moment, and the next instant, it scattered everywhere as if it had burst.
Alright! That felt effective.
Typos, I can just kick them away with "brute force" like this.
Hehehe, once you know the trick, it's easy.
The second one, the third one... one after another, I swung through them, changing the shapes of the slimes.
...The tenth one, the eleventh one...
Huff, huff... but, me. To think I've repeated this many typos and omissions. But wait? Why didn't I notice?
Even though I knew this wasn't the intended use of a "dictionary," I kept swinging it.
I was thinking while smashing them. Why hadn't I noticed the typos and omissions?
It's down to the last one!
"Doryaaaaa!"
Splat!☆
Huff, huff, huff, huff...
I'm breathing heavily. I've used up all my strength.
All around, the remains of blue typo slimes and red omission slimes are scattered, and nothing with a shape remains.
I picked up the notebook lying on the ground, staggering with a body that had no strength left.
The next moment.
Creep...
Creepy-creep...
Creep...
The red and blue remains I thought I had scattered.
Like fetal earthworms, they start moving all at once, squirming in a rhythmic, jerky motion.
"W-w-what..." I back away in terror.
The fetal rhythm gradually grew louder, and they started moving with increased momentum.
Slowly, the scattered red and blue fragments approached and mixed together, becoming a single entity and growing larger. It far exceeded its original form, turning into a purple slime with a demon's face, a massive lump that must have been 2 meters tall.
The words "King Typo/Omission Slime" appeared, floating above the creature.
The guy with the goofy, teary eyes from when it first appeared is gone.
What's in front of me is a dangerous guy with bloodshot eyes, crooked fangs protruding from a large mouth, drooling and growling. This is a pretty dire situation...
I used the "dictionary" wrong. (Wait, was it really?)
Does this mean that no matter how much I crush typos and omissions with brute force, they'll just keep popping up?
I had no strength left to stand up to this ferocious slime.
(To be continued)

◆Afterword
It's Yasu. An adventure story in the text MMORPG "Describe Method Online." It's a creative story. What if there were a world ruled by text? What if there were an online game like that? I wonder if you could be invincible. Oh, Ryuu-san, I fixed the typos.
