How to write a bucket listð Tips and tricks for writing 100 items. You can easily fill it up with thisâïž
Happy New Year, everyoneð
I look forward to your continued support in 2026.
Now, when it comes to the New Year, many people probably write a "Bucket List / To-Do List."Don't they?
Every New Year, I write a"100 Things to Do List."But 100 items are never enough, and before I know it, I've always written more than 100. There are greedy people like me in the world, but there are also people who say, "I can't write 100 things."
This time,
I will introduce my methods and tips for writing a "bucket list" that ends up with over 100 items every year.

It's difficult when you're told on a blank sheet of paper,
"Please write 100 things! Go ahead!!"
isn't it?
So...
âŸïžFirst, let's categorize themâŸïž
Categorizing not only makes it easier to write, but also has the benefit of being "easier to look back on." If you have 10 categories, you just need to write 10 items for each to clear 100. Also, the more categories you have, the easier it will be to write them down. What I've written here is just one example. Please decide on the categories that suit you. Let's each create our own original list.
ã»Goals for this year
Are you getting stuck trying to write 100 items just in this category? Let's write this one last. Put it on hold for now.
ã»Things I want
Isn't this incredibly easy to write? Just write down things you want. Let me write a bit of my list
âïžFrixion pen refills (blue)
âïžLint roller for cleaning
âïžDecorate with tulips when they are in season
âïžEspresso machine (I probably can't buy it this year, but I'll write it down because I want it)
âïžA more natural version of myself
âïžReplace my work bag
...I could probably write 50 items just in this category.
ã»Places I want to go
It's good to write down overseas trips or distant regions, but also
âïžGo to a curry shop called XX
âïžGo to a specialty tea shop
âïžGo back to my parents' house in the summer
âïžVisit a grave
âïžClip the rabbit's nails
âïžSamoyed cafe
âïžConcert of my favorite artist
âïžDisney
etc. It's easier to achieve if you write down familiar places like restaurants you want to try.
ã»Places I want to clean
âïžThe closet I've been worried about for a long time
âïžThe bookshelf full of books I don't read
âïžInside the "everything" box
âïžThe window sash in the bathroom
âïžWindows without a balcony
I think everyone has different places that bother them.
ã»People I want to meet
âïž Old friends
âïž Friends living far away
âïž Relatives
âïž Former teachers
âïž Mickey Mouse (wait, is he a person?)
âïž Someone I admire
âïž My favorite celebrity/character
And so on, I wonder who I want to meet...
ã»Books I want to read, movies I want to watch
These are easy to write, so I'll skip them.
ã»Dishes I want to cook
Writing down recipes you've been curious about helps fill the list and ensures you don't forget to make them.
ã»Habits I want to adopt
âïž Go to the dentist every 3 months
âïž Go to the hair salon regularly
âïž Ventilate the room after waking up
âïž Stand up every hour
âïž Wake up by 7 AM every morning
âïž Radio calisthenics
Write down a wide range of things, from things that you or others might think, 'Huh? That's it?' to iron-man level habits like 'Wake up at 4 AM every morning!!'
ã»Things I absolutely must do
âïž Tax return
And, tax return, tax return...
I'm going to be tormented by tax returns from now on, so this is all I can think of... but there are many things, right? Things you have to do.
Yes, like tax returns!!!
ã»Things I want to achieve in my career
Don't hesitate to write down the ambitions you have inside you!
ã»Things I want to achieve in my private life
âïž Want to lose 2kg by August
âïž Want to fix my bitten nails
âïž Want to make my heels smooth
âïž Want to contact that person I have a crush on
And so on.
Reading this far, don't you notice something?
[Places I want to go]
Favorite artist's concert, my parents' home, Disney
[People I want to meet]
Favorite artist, parents, Mickey
It's all the same thing, isn't it!?
I'm going to a concert to see my favorite artist, and my parents are there when I visit my hometown!! So, there's no need to categorize them, right!?
If you keep being that stubborn, you'll never reach 100 items.
To write 100 items, you need to break them down.
This article is for those who want to fill in 100 items. It's not cheating (serious face).
Let's say your favorite artist is having a concert in Osaka this year âïž
[Places I want to go]
ã»Osaka
ã»XX Dome
ã»My favorite artist's concert
ã»Takoyaki shop
[People I want to meet]
ã»My favorite artist
ã»The friend I'm going with
[Things I want]
ã»Kuidaore Taro keychain
It fills up like this, and if you go to the Osaka concert, you might be able to check off all these items. Even if you don't go to Osaka, you might go to a local takoyaki shop.
ã»I'm back. Goals for this year
Once you've written this much, I think you'll find it easy to write your goals as well. You can write a summary of what you've written so far! Or you can write down big goals!
Also, it might defeat the purpose to say this, but...
I don't think you have to write all 100 at once.
While living your life, don't you have various desires pop up like, "I want to do this," "I want that," "I want to go there," or "Is the new book by that author coming out? I want to read it!"
If so, you can just add them as they come.
We aren't living our lives standing still.
Since we are in days that keep moving, it's fine if your goals change along the way. I think that's natural. Actually, I would feel more anxious if they didn't change.
Will you spend the year bound by the goals you set at the beginning of the year,
or will you enjoy working toward goals that change according to the situation?
If asked which is better,
I would choose the latter without hesitation.
The speed at which you write (fill in) your bucket list of 100 things doesn't matter.
What matters is how much heart you put into it and how excited you can get, so I think it's fine to take a year to complete the list.
So, I will write each item with a little room to spare so I can add to them later.
I'll also create some free space.
Well then, are you going to be able to fill in your list of 100 things you want to do?
By breaking them down and writing them like this,
you can easily write a lot and achieve your goals more readily.
It feels great to check off items you've accomplished.
Let's have fun and create the list with a relaxed mindset!

-In conclusion-
I think I'll write fewer items on my bucket list/to-do list for 2026. (Though I'll still aim for 100)
The other day, at a certain gathering, I heard that for a bucket list, rather than writing down small things, writing down big things makes it easier for big goals to come true.I see! That's interesting.
I'm thinking of reducing the number of items compared to previous years, partly as an experiment for next year.
What are your bucket list items and goals?
Let's enjoy 2026, which has just begun ð
