๐Thank you! [Panda Gorogoro Award] Gratitude to everyone who planned and managed the Izayoi Cup, and to everyone who participated๐
Last night, I received a notification from ote saying "Your article is trending." It had been a while, so I wondered, "What could it be?" and when I checked, it was an article by Panda Gorogoro-san (so cuteโก).
To my surprise! The haiku I submitted received a special award!
Last month, I submitted three of my own haiku to the autumn-held [Izayoi Cup]. The Izayoi Cup is an event held seasonally as part of the
[Everyone's Haiku Tournament], and it is always incredibly lively. What I find wonderful is that everyone involved, both the organizers and the participants, is so kind, and it creates a world overflowing with thoughtfulness.
The theme for this Izayoi Cup was "Autumn" and "We are all looking at the same moon"
It's lovely, isn't it?
The moon is my best friend. I can tell the moon anything, even things I can't tell anyone else. I submitted three haiku about the moon, which is always there to lean on and accept me.
And last night, I received the happy news. The [
Panda Gorogoro Award] I received is a very special award.
I learned about it for the first time, too.
Its origin is "a chain of kindness"
The selection criteria is "whether it makes you feel kindness"
I read the story of its birth.
And the history of past winners as well.
โThe winner of the 1st [Apollo Cup] was Noriko Tonomura-san
Looking up, searching for Mom by the poolside
โThe winner of the 2nd [Shiro Cup] was Harappa no Risu-san
Playing the leaves, a wheelchair inviting the wagtail
โThe winner of the 3rd [Sasha Cup] is Kotatsubuton-san
Rubber boots and snowy paths, following in my father's footsteps
โThe winner of the 4th [Space Cup] is Koredemo Haha-san
Exhausted, celebrating graduation with a school backpack
โThe winner of the 5th [Tsurukame Cup] is Panda Gorogoro-san
In the shadow of a pure white veil, summer departs
Well, everyone's backgrounds, situations, the passage of time, and the feelings of those moments are poignant, and these are haiku that make you feel warm, as if gently wrapped in a cloth of kindness.
โAnd this time, the winner of the [Izayoi Cup] is me.
Wanting to cry, I look up at the hazy moon
Panda Gorogoro-san gave such a truly wonderful critique, making the haiku even more beautiful than when I first composed it.
Here it is. (It'll make you cry)
~๐~ The following is from Panda Gorogoro-san's article ~๐~
The following is the scene that Panda Gorogoro imagined after reading Yayoi-san's haiku and text above.
โโโ
I don't cry while I'm at work.
I am an adult.
Because I am a working professional,
no matter how much I want to cry, I hold it all in.
But once I leave the pharmacy (since Yayoi-san is a pharmacist),
all the things I've been holding back come overflowing out.
The events that happened that day,
there were happy things too,
and I am often thanked, but,
after all, there are many unreasonable things as well...
When I look up at the sky, there is the moon.
Maybe it's okay to cry now.
I wonder if it's alright to confide in the moon.
Oh, just a moment ago, it was a bright full moon, but
before I knew it, clouds covered it, and it's hazy.
...
No.
It's my tears,
making it look blurred.
Perhaps the moon has its own hardships too.
Even so, it shows itself to us every day.
The reason the full moon looks blurred might be because the moon is encouraging me.
As if watched over by the moon,
I made my way home one night.
Thank you, moon.
I feel energized now.
My job is to make people feel energized.
Hehe, perhaps that is a bit similar to the moon's job.
Tomorrow, I will work for everyone's happiness again.

~๐~ I pasted it as is for easy reading ~๐~
Thank you very much.
I'm sure everyone has had the experience of looking up at the moon with a heavy heart.
And now, having overcome such times, you are likely gazing at the moon with gentle feelings.
Panda Gorogoro-san scooped up my feelings through this haiku.
I remembered that summer when I was cornered without realizing it. I was healed by it.
And the excitement doesn't stop there.
This award is also a baton that passes kindness from one recipient to the next.
This is the amazing part.
And, I feel not only the joy of receiving the award but also the responsibility of passing the baton to the next person.
It makes me feel a joy different from winning, slowly and steadily. Of course, there is some anxiety, but I am very much looking forward to the next haiku competition.
To everyone who planned and managed the [Izayoi Cup], and to all participants, thank you very much.
I imagine it was a lot of work. Thank you truly for your hard work.
And I would like to express my deep gratitude for noticing the small flowers by the roadside.
