Dieting is not about 'not eating': The true way to lose weight starts by 'filling up'
First, I will explain why 'filling up' is the essence of dieting.
When people hear the word 'diet,' what most people think of first is 'not eating,' 'endurance,' and 'calorie restriction.'
However, in the more than 10 years I have spent supporting over 1,500 people with their diets, I have realized the reality that those who focus only on 'reducing' are the ones who cannot lose weight.
In fact, those who have been able to lose weight say things like this:
'Is it really okay to eat this much?'
'I'm eating more than before, but my body feels lighter.'
'I didn't know I could change without having to endure it.'
Yes, what is truly important is not 'reducing the amount you eat,' but 'properly consuming what your body needs.'
Especially without the perspective of 'getting proper nutrition,' any diet will eventually come to a halt.
● Why do many women fail at dieting?
'If I just cut calories, I'll lose weight.'
'Cut out as much fat and sugar as possible.'
'Enduring and suffering is what dieting is.'
Many people have this image and rush into extreme dietary restrictions.
But what awaits them is:
• A decrease in metabolism due to muscle loss
• Poor physical condition such as fatigue, rough skin, and irritability
• Rapid weight gain due to rebounding
• Guilt and stress regarding food
The cause of many of these is that 'even if calories are reduced, nutrition is insufficient.'
● Is it a mistake to 'reduce food intake' while dieting?
While it is necessary to stop overeating and binge drinking, 'what should be reduced is not calories, but wasteful habits and foods with no nutritional value.'
And what should be increased is the 'nutrition that the body truly needs' = protein.
Many women are chronically deficient in protein in their daily meals.
Without realizing it, they rush toward 'reducing' their meals more and more.
This is the number one reason why they don't lose weight or why they rebound.
● The body begins to change by 'adding' nutrition
To change your body, you need 'addition,' not 'subtraction.'
Especially in dieting, you need to rethink as follows:
■ Low nutrition, high calories → Easy to gain weight, hard to lose, and prone to poor physical condition
■ High nutrition, low calories → Lose weight healthily, body becomes balanced
High nutrition does not just mean having many nutrients, but refers to:
'A state where you are sufficiently consuming what your body truly needs.'
And at the center of that is 'protein.'
● Protein is the core nutrient for dieting
Protein is not just 'material for muscle.'
It is the existence at the center of everything: dieting, beauty, and health.
■ Reasons why protein is necessary:
• Maintains muscle mass and supports basal metabolism
• Stabilizes appetite and maintains satiety
• Increases metabolism that burns fat (diet-induced thermogenesis)
• Regulates hormonal balance (especially for women)
• Becomes the material for beautiful skin, hair, and nails
• Prevents muscle weakness and bone loss due to aging
And above all, what is important is that the fundamental motive for humans to feel 'I want to eat' lies in satisfying protein needs.
This is known as the 'protein leverage hypothesis,' and research results show that if protein is insufficient, you cannot feel satisfied no matter how much of other foods you eat.
That is why you first need to prioritize satisfying protein—the 'protein-first' mindset.
● The amount of protein women should actually consume and realistic ways to take it
■ Guideline for required amount
Body weight (kg) x 1.2–1.5g / day
Example: Body weight 55kg → 66g–82.5g of protein required
This amount tends to be overwhelmingly insufficient unless you consciously structure your meals.
■ Since it is easy to be deficient with meals alone, utilize protein supplements.
• No appetite in the morning
• Too busy to cook
• Eating out often and lacking protein
→ In such cases, protein supplements become an 'easy option.'
Furthermore, protein supplements are excellent in that they make 'dieting possible anywhere.'
• At home or at work,
• Even while traveling,
• Even overseas!
As long as you have one shaker and water, you can maintain the axis of your diet anytime, anywhere.
It is a mechanism to 'make the number of days you can't do it zero.'
■ Recommended timing for protein intake
1. Right after waking up in the morning → High absorption rate and stable metabolism
2. Before dinner → Appetite settles down, highly effective in preventing binge eating
*If you have resistance to protein supplements, '1–2 boiled eggs' can be a sufficient substitute.
Practicing protein-first is the most important thing.
● Exercise is not for 'losing weight,' but for 'balancing.' The strongest choice: squats
The exercise type I value most in diet guidance is 'squats.'
This is because squats are not just 'muscle training,' but an all-purpose training that balances 'posture,' 'metabolism,' and 'whole-body balance.'
■ Benefits brought by squats
• Stimulates large muscles in the lower body, increasing metabolism
• Posture is corrected, and breathing becomes deeper
• Stability of the pelvis and core → Also for prevention of lower back pain and stiff shoulders
• Can be done at home = easy to continue
Acquiring the correct form is more important than anything else.
In particular, the 'hip hinge (movement of pulling the hips back)' is the key.
Squats are the 'basic movement for balancing everything in the body.'
Even 2–3 times a week is enough. It will surely change your body.

● What is an essential diet? Let's start by filling up, not reducing
If I were to summarize the content so far in one word: Your body truly changes when you 'fill up' what is missing.
• Nutrition (especially protein) was insufficient
• The 'quality' of exercise was insufficient
• The consciousness of valuing yourself was gradually fading
By noticing this and supplementing it, both your body and mind will naturally begin to balance.
■ A diet should be 'part of life'
• Go out with a protein shake
• Eat an egg first thing in the morning
• Do squats for even just 5 minutes
These small 'filling habits' will eventually lead to big changes.

Afterword: What I want to convey in this blog from now on
In this blog, I will continue to share the following content in depth:
• Specific meal contents and recipes (paid part)
• Correct form and training explanation for squats
• Tips on how to choose and drink protein supplements
• Diet methods that consider women's hormonal balance
• Support methods for menstrual cycles, mental health, and habituation
Not to lose weight, but to balance.
Not to reduce, but to fill up.
Not to endure, but to choose correctly again.
I hope this blog will not be 'information for losing weight' in your life, but a guide that leads to 'health and beauty as a way of life.'
