Who is the Pro-Wrestler O-MENZ Kumadori? [O-MENZ Kumadori Birthday Project]

June 19th is the birthday of O-MENZ Kumadori.

Speaking of Kumadori, he is also known for debuting as a professional wrestler in DDT Pro-Wrestling in 2024.

However, among pro-wrestling and DDT fans, there are likely many who think,"What is O-MENZ?" or "Who is Kumadori?"Speaking of athletes who have recently entered DDT from other industries, there are names like THE RAMPAGE's Kaisei Takechi, who announced his joining in July, and Hiroto Sakuraba, who is active as a 2.5D actor. Among them, I felt that information about O-MENZ Kumadori was somewhat lacking on the internet.

Therefore, this time,for those who learned about Kumadori through pro-wrestling, I would like to introduce O-MENZ and Kumadori from the perspective of an O-MENZ fan.I would like to make this my own birthday project.

What is O-MENZ?

O-MENZ is a five-man male street dance group. The members are Hannya, Okame, Kumadori, Kitsune, and Agyo.

They started their activities in 2020 by posting dance videos on TikTok and have gained popularity with social media as their main field.

Since 2023, they have been releasing original songs digitally, expanding the scope of their activities. The song performed by the other members when Kumadori made his pro-wrestling debut at "Ultimate Party 2024" at Ryogoku Kokugikan on December 28, 2024, was their first single,"O-MEN". It is also a staple song at their live performances.

On May 24-25, 2025, they held a two-day solo live concert at LINE CUBE SHIBUYA (Shibuya Public Hall),selling out both days.

Characteristics of O-MENZ

The most notable feature of O-MENZ is,that they wear masks.Kumadori wears a pro-wrestling mask when participating in matches, but usually, all five of them wear hard masks with an atmosphere similar to those used in traditional performing arts. Whether performing dance or in other situations, they never take off these masks in public toshow their bare faces.(By the way, the masks they currently wear were created through crowdfunding.)

Also,the fact that everyone was a professional dancer before the formation of O-MENZis a major characteristic. It is said that Hannya, the leader and producer, reached out to his dance friends to form O-MENZ. In other words,it was a group where high dance skills were guaranteed from the start.

Their alias is"Dance Terrorist Group."The sight of them appearing guerrilla-style in the city, dancing, and leaving can truly be called dance terrorists. (However, because O-MENZ's popularity has risen rapidly over the past year, such guerrilla activities have rarely been conducted recently.) Also, along with this alias, fans are called
"accomplices,"gifts to members are called"suspicious items,"and the fan club is called"crime plan," etc.,with many somewhat ominous names.

The true identity of O-MENZ

The members of O-MENZdo not disclose their real names, ages, or bare faces at all.I think this is similar to masked wrestlers in pro-wrestling. However,please understand that the "people inside" O-MENZ are much more secretive than typical masked wrestlers.

As mentioned above, since the members are dancers who were originally active publicly, the reality is that their identities can be guessed to some extent. However,O-MENZ members never engage in behavior that hints at who is "inside."The reverse is also true; no specific dancer ever hints that they are O-MENZ. Therefore, many of the fans, the "accomplices," alsoagree not to openly mention the "people inside."(There are scattered examples of people creating private social media accounts or using accounts separate from their O-MENZ fan accounts to maintain this separation.)

In the case of masked wrestlers, there are many cases where fans guess their identities in open forums, the wrestlers themselves say things like "I'm a different person than so-and-so (laughs)," or they reveal their identities by taking off their masks later. In the case of O-MENZ, it is safe to say that such cases almost never happen. I hope you can understand that level of sensitivity.

*In fact, when the familiar development for masked wrestlers of "almost having the mask ripped off" occurred in his first match, I believe the "accomplices" were genuinely nervous.

Who is Kumadori?

Now, I would like to introduce Kumadori as an individual.

He wears a mask with the Kabuki Kumadori pattern. He is a tough, manly character. Fans call him "Kuma-chan" or "Danchō" (Leader). He often wears a durag on his head and is dressed in coveralls or B-BOY style outfits.

A feature of O-MENZ is that each member has a different specialty dance genre and Kumadori's genre is breakdancing. It is a dance style that leaves an impression with him spinning around on the floor, which he also frequently performs in the ring. His strength lies in his power, utilizing his proud physique.

He has been proud of his muscles since before he entered pro-wrestling. Going to the gym is his hobby, and he even mentioned in a live MC that he went to the gym before the show. The performance of "Onegai Muscle" that he dances with Kitsune, who also enjoys muscle training, boasts a cult following among the "accomplices" as a program where you can fully enjoy their beautiful physiques. Both of them reportedly have a bench press of 100kg and a deadlift of 200kg.

By the way, the current Kumadori is the second generation. O-MENZ was formed in 2020 with six members, and in 2021, Karasu-Tengu graduated, followed by the first-generation Kumadori and first-generation Kitsune in 2022. He inherited the mask and, scouted by the leader Hannya, in August 2022the second-generation Kumadori and second-generation Kitsune joined. Even though he joined midway, he is
a childhood friend of member Agata (they reportedly went to the same nursery school), and he has been associated with the second-generation Kitsune since high school, so their teamwork is perfect.

His member color is orange. Kumadori's fans, the "Kumadori Corps," also often wear orange. If you see someone in the pro-wrestling audience wearing orange clothes and holding a penlight or fan, they are likely the "Kumadori Corps."

There are other things I would like to tell you, such as being in charge of TikTok videos, a 50m sprint time of 6.0 seconds, being a former Johnny's member..., but I will stop here.

Pro-wrestling debut announcement

On November 3, 2024, he announced his pro-wrestling debut. The detailed circumstances are unknown, but he reportedly met Vice President Sanshiro Takagi through someone and expressed his desire to take on the challenge of pro-wrestling.

This announcement date was also the final day of O-MENZ's first national tour. As for the reaction of the "accomplices," since he was already known as a muscle character as mentioned above, it felt convincing, but I feel there were also many voices worried about injuries.

On November 23, 2024, ahead of his debut, he crashed the ring after Kazuki Hirata's match at DDT Pro-Wrestling's "Get Alive 2024" at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo. After performing breakdancing in the ring, it was announced that he would be teaming up with Hirata.

*Two days before this, Kumadori tweeted a hint, "It seems there is a wrestler in DDT who is good at dancing".

By the way, Kumadori hardly spoke about his participation from the time his pro-wrestling debut was decided until the day of the event. When he was asked in the comments of a live stream 3 days before the participation, "Did you lose weight?" "Are you toning up?", he just stood up silently and posed. (He was exposed by member Okame, who said, "You've been practicing a lot, haven't you?") Furthermore, at this time, he was in the middle of the free live tour "Hyakusen Renma -Sai-", and O-MENZ was performing live almost every week. A fan meeting was also scheduled for December 30, 2024, two days after his participation, and it is thought that he was practicing for that dance in parallel.

Debut Match (December 28, 2024)

And made his debut on December 28, 2024, at Ryogoku Kokugikan for "Ultimate Party 2024". In a match featuring Kazuki Hirata & Kumadori vs. Makoto Oishi & Akito, he secured a brilliant victory while his fellow members watched on. (The "Brave of O-MENZ" mentioned in the introduction announcement is the title Kumadori uses during his self-introduction at live performances.)

As a personal impression, I was deeply moved by how Kumadori, who looks wild when he is with O-MENZ, was precise, elegant, and beautiful in the ring. I had an image of pro-wrestling moves being dynamic and involving full-body collisions, but I felt that every one of Kumadori's moves was beautiful and meticulously calculated. However, I also think that what makes this possible are the wrestlers who receive those moves and the broad-minded environment that is DDT.

Regarding the reason for the weight loss, he stated that it was because he "was conscious of bringing out sharpness and mobility" in order to win against pro-wrestlers with larger bodies than his own.

Second Match (April 6, 2025)

April 6, 2025, at Korakuen Hall for "CHANGE AGE 2025 ~April is My Lie~". The match card was a 6-man tag match: MAO & Kazuki Hirata & Kumadori vs. Shunma Katsumata & Yuki & Kazuma Sumi.

(From his live self-introduction: "Brave of O-MENZ, I am Kumadori. I'll blow you away. That is all.")

Unfortunately, he lost the match, but he showed off brilliant aerial moves just like last time.

Third Match (June 29, 2025)

A match featuring HARASHIMA & Kumadori vs. MJ Paul & Ilusion is scheduled for June 29, 2025, at Korakuen Hall for "KING OF KINGS ~Stormy June Decisive Battle~".

Hannya is also confused by the large number of masked wrestlers.

In conclusion

I am not very familiar with pro-wrestling, and Kumadori's debut match was the first time I had watched a match so closely. I had a vague image of it being 'intense and passionate,' so I was surprised by the entertainment value and glamour of DDT Pro-Wrestling. If I have the chance, I would like to go to a live event.

MAO, who teamed up with Kumadori, mentioned Kumadori's name in a recent interview as someone who could 'bring DDT to the world outside of pro-wrestling.'

Similarly, as an O-MENZ fan, I hope that Kumadori will be the one to make O-MENZ known to people outside of the O-MENZ fandom. As I am sure you pro-wrestling fans already know, the thrill of seeing human bodies in motion live is irreplaceable. O-MENZ is currently touring the country on their free live tour 'Hyakusen Renma -Shin-'. This event is basically free (excluding facility admission fees), so if there is a venue near you, please try to visit.

However, O-MENZ's popularity has skyrocketed over the past year, and at free live shows, the front seats are almost always filled from the morning. They sometimes live stream on Instagram, so it might be a good idea to watch the stream first.

Furthermore, their next solo live concert has been set for February 22, 2026, at Tokyo International Forum Hall A. This will be their first 5,000-capacity hall show. Tickets are not on sale yet, so let's wait for more information.

While Kumadori is a passionate man, he also possesses hidden kindness and meticulous thoughtfulness, and he is someone who never slacks off in his efforts behind the scenes. Both as a pro-wrestler and as a dancer, Kumadori will surely continue to evolve even further.
