Looking at my followers, it seems many people came to read note from social media, so I made a note guide for readers.

Articles

How to find articles: For smartphone apps

Pressing the author's icon will take you to the "Creator Page" where the author's articles are collected. If you search using the magnifying glass icon on that page, you can search specifically for that author's articles.

How to find articles: For PC browsers

Pressing the author's icon will take you to the "Creator Page" where the author's articles are collected. If you search using "Search articles" on that page, you can search specifically for that author's articles.

Alternatively, entering the author's ID in the search box will yield the same result. If you want to find my "Maknae Line" articles using my ID, enter the following to search.

Suki (Like)

What is Suki?

It's a "Like." If you read an interesting article, please press the heart icon, and the author will be happy ( *´艸｀)

What happens when I press Suki?

If you press Suki while logged into note, the author will be notified of who pressed it.

If you press Suki while not logged in or without a note account, the Suki will be counted, but the author will not know who pressed it. It won't appear in the notification list, so it's a bit hard to notice.

If I remove my Suki, will the other person know?

Removing a 'like' does not trigger a notification, so they won't know.

Bookmarks

I want to bookmark a person/article I like

Please refer to the sections on 'Follow', 'Magazine', and 'Follow Magazine'.

• Author -> Follow

• note article -> Follow the user's magazine, add to your own magazine

There is also a history in 'Liked articles' and 'Recently read articles', but the storage capacity is small and it gets replaced quickly, so it is not suitable for bookmarking.

I want update notifications

If you press the bell icon, you will be notified of that person's new articles.

What happens when I follow someone?

When there is an update from a person or magazine you follow, the latest articles will appear in your 'Following' timeline.

Will the other person know if I follow them?

When you follow someone, the author is notified of who followed them.

Will the other person know if I unfollow them?

Unfollowing does not trigger a notification, so they won't know.

Magazine

What is a magazine?

It is a public bookmark for articles you like. I use it for categorization.
It is similar to a YouTube playlist.

You can add your favorite articles to a magazine by pressing the icon with this mark.
Once added, "Magazines containing this article" will be displayed at the bottom of the article.

How do I create a magazine?

If you select "Magazine" from your account screen, you will see a creation icon with a "+" sign.

Is it okay to add other people's articles to my magazine?

Yes, please do. When you add an article, the author will be notified.
I think the most common ways to use it are to collect your favorite articles to share with others, or to create a magazine collaboratively with others.

What happens if I make a magazine private?

If it is a private magazine, it will not be visible to others, and the author will not be notified even if you add an article to that magazine.

I want to delete a magazine I made as a test, is that okay?

It is okay. Deleting a magazine will not affect the articles.

Following a magazine

How do I use the magazine follow feature?

When you follow a magazine, the latest articles that appear in your "Following" timeline will change.
I think it's a good idea to use it differently depending on what kind of articles you want to see.

• If you want to keep up with someone who writes articles you like -> Follow the person

• If you only want to read articles from this magazine -> Follow only the magazine

If you follow a person, all of their latest articles will be displayed, but if you only follow a magazine, they will only be displayed when an article is added to that magazine.

For example, if an author has many hobbies and has magazines for various genres, but you only want to read these specific ones, using this feature is convenient because your timeline will only contain articles from the genres you like.

What happens if I follow both the person and the magazine?

If you follow both, the result is the same as following the person (all latest articles will be displayed).
Functionally, it doesn't have much meaning, but it might be okay to follow it intentionally to express that "this magazine is the best!"

Will the other person know if I follow their magazine?

When you add it, the author will be notified.

If I unfollow a magazine, will the other person know?

No notification is sent when you unfollow, so they won't know.
(I don't think there is any way to know 'who is following this magazine' other than the notification received when someone follows.)

Comments

Where do I write a comment?

You can comment by pressing the speech bubble icon.
When you comment, the author will be notified.

How should I reply to a comment?

If you write a comment on the same article, a notification saying 'So-and-so also commented' will be sent to people who have written in that article's comment section.

[Update: 2025/10/7] Because the specifications have changed, you can now reply individually to recent articles.

I want to send a message, but I don't want it to be public.

Note does not fundamentally have a private message function that anyone can use.
If their social media is public, you might want to try sending it from there.

When sending a tip, you can send a private message from the comment section.

[Update: 2025/10/7] If you are mutually following each other, you can now send DMs.

Other

What is a tip (support)?

It is a system like a tip or Super Chat that allows you to pay the author directly. You can choose the amount, and you can use credit cards, PayPay, or mobile carrier billing.
You can also send a private message along with it.

What should I do if there is an article I don't want to see?

You can block the author from the following. You cannot do it on an article-by-article basis.
If there is an inappropriate article, you can request the management to handle it via 'Report'.

When you block someone, their articles will no longer appear in your timeline.
Also, the person you blocked will no longer be able to like, comment on, or follow you.
However, they will still appear in search results. ← This seems to be the current specification.

Will they find out if I block or report them?

Blocking or reporting does not trigger a notification, so they will not find out. However, if the other person tries to like, follow, or comment on you, they won't be able to, so they might find out, but if you are just a reader, that possibility is low.

Q&A for readers

Will they find out who read it?

If you only read, they will not find out. If you like, follow, or comment while logged in, the author will be notified.

I don't use note, but I want to connect on social media

I recommend creating a read-only account. First, make your name and icon the same as your social media. If you like or comment and then talk to them on social media, it will be easier for them to recognize you.

You can set "social links" on your profile page. If you put your URL there, they might notice you.

Will they find out if I link from my social media?

note has an analytics function that shows the number of views, likes, and comments, but it does not have a function to track where links came from, so unless the author searches for people linking to their articles, I don't think they will find out.

You can set up analytics if you have the paid version, but it is expensive, so it might only be usable by companies.
