Even with a Love for Cash, My Investment Ratio is 49%! Breakdown of My 26 Million Total Assets [2024 Edition]
Yo, are you still planting seeds today?
It's Dis-Perch, the investment mafia of the field world.
In my previous article, I introduced my annual savings for 2024.
I wrote that I allocated 30% of my annual savings to investments, but what does that look like when looking at my total assets?
I wanted to look back on it again, so I decided to write this article.
🥦 Please invest at your own risk 🥦
Investing carries the risk of losing money. Make sure to use funds you can afford to lose.
Please read the following strictly as my personal experience.
🥦 Conclusion: Total assets as of December 2024
My total assets as of December 2024 are approximately 26 million yen.
Cash assets: 13.2 million yen
Investment assets: 12.8 million yen
While I allocated 30% of my annual savings to investments,on a total asset basis, about 49% is actually in investment assets.

The reason for this isthat in addition to the investment assets I have been steadily building up, the returns from stocks and investment trusts have grown beyond the amount contributed.
In particular, my iDeCo (corporate DC) has beengrowing at an annual rate of about 9.8%for the past few years, which is a factor pushing up the investment ratio in my total assets.
My broccoli field is growing all sorts of crops, and I couldn't be happier.
🥦 Assets locked away for the future
Now, I want to clarify two things: "iDeCo (corporate DC)" and "education funds."
iDeCo (corporate DC): Cannot be withdrawn until age 60
Education funds: Savings for children that cannot be used freely
I exclude these two from my total assets because they are "money that exists but cannot be touched." They are assets I cannot use even if family events like buying a new car or going on a trip occur.
🥦 My free assets (Free Cash Squad)
Therefore, the remainder, excluding iDeCo and education funds, is my "Free Cash Squad" that I can move immediately. These are the real forces that can be deployed for car replacements, trips, or investment opportunities.
However, while I call them "free," I have a rule and vow that "I basically do not touch my investment assets."When I need money, I use my cash savings and keep my investment assets as a trump card. This is because investment assets benefit from compound interest when left alone.
I let money work as money and let it grow. Yes, just like broccoli.
By the way,my cash savings are also divided into defensive assets and the Free Cash Squad, but I will introduce the details of my portfolio another time.
My free assets (Free Cash Squad) in 2024 amount to approximately 16.8 million yen.
Cash assets: 12.3 million yen
Investment assets: 4.5 million yen
Looking at my liquid assets, the investment ratio is only 26.8%.

My total assets boast an investment ratio of 49% because they include assets I've invested heavily in over 15 years through steady contributions to iDeCo and Junior NISA. Compared to that, my liquid assets are looking quite meager.
My current challenge is to increase the investment ratio of my liquid assets, but actually, even this is a result of that ratio steadily climbing over time!!
Originally, my liquid assets were centered on cash savings, and I was a broccoli who loved cash, but this is the result of steadily moving cash assets into investment assets!
I will introduce the details of this story in depth next time.
Please look forward to it.
🥦 Closing
Looking back, while the investment ratio of my total assets is high, my liquid assets (my free cash squad) still have a long way to go.
As a cash lover, I tend to keep a higher cash ratio than necessary. Ideally, I should allocate more to investments and let my money work for me.
That said, cash for daily living is also essential. This ratio depends on the person and their personality.
However, after writing this article, I realized that what is most important is to look back occasionally, just as I did this time.
The repetition of 'Review -> Reflection -> Improvement,' or what is known as PDCA, is what makes me a reliable broccoli, full of both love and bittersweetness!
Well then, I'll see you in the next article. Arrivederci.
If you found this article even a little bit 'interesting,' please support me with a like or a follow. In my magazine, I introduce the 'Broccoli-style Asset Building' that I, Dis-Parch, practice, using real experiences and numbers, so please check it out.
Let's grow the Broccoli family together and cultivate our field of assets 🥦
