A Big Step for Adjustment Disorder | Thinking About Work
Hello.
I'm Yu, a woman with nothing but room to grow.
I feel like I've been doing a little better over the past few days.
The biggest change is that I've become able to look at job search apps.
Until recently, just thinking about "work" would cause symptoms similar to lightheadedness, and even looking at the icon for a job app was painful.
Being able to open the app and scroll through it is definitely a big step forward.
I still haven't decided what kind of work I want to do, but I'd like to try taking steady steps.
There must be plenty of things I can do, surely.
Days spent feeling down, wondering, "Why did I end up with this illness?"
Recently, I've started to think, "Maybe this was just a break in my life."
My life has been a constant sprint.
Of course I'd run out of gas.
Actually, I think I deserve a passing grade for having been able to sprint for 41 years.
I'll use this precious free time while on leave to properly refuel, and then I'll be ready to sprint again.
Oh, I've learned a little, so I'll make sure not to forget to stop at a gas station along the way.
My children are all grown up now, so next time, it would be nice to drive safely and leisurely while enjoying the "scenery."
Wow✨ I have nothing but room to grow.
Turning weakness into strength
Job hunting after an illness is probably going to be tougher than I can imagine. But, let's do this.
My family's super eldest daughter gave me another piece of wisdom: "Knowing your own weaknesses is a strength!" so I'm feeling kind of strong. ← Simple-minded.
But, just as my eldest daughter said, I also think that understanding why you became ill is a "strength."
I'm sure there will still be many times when I'm viewed with feelings similar to "prejudice." I feel like I had a somewhat biased view myself before I got sick.
I certainly held more than a few negative impressions, like that someone was very weak-willed or couldn't manage themselves.
But in reality, it really can happen to anyone suddenly.
To ensure that the illness known as "adjustment disorder" isn't viewed only through negative emotions, I will also carefully consider how to market myself.
I hope I can encounter a wonderful company where I, with nothing but room to grow, can shine...
First, I want to keep adding jobs I'm interested in to my favorites, and think them over carefully while comparing them.
Little by little, one step at a time.
♡♡ Aside ♡♡
The other day, I received a "book card" from my daughter as a Mother's Day gift. I'm back to visiting bookstores again.
I ended up buying the "books I've been curious about" that I had been holding back on.

Oh boy.
Looks interesting!
With that said, I intend to get so hooked that I become a person who is dangerously obsessed.
Book cards are wonderful✨
My daughter, I'm grateful to you❤︎❤︎
